Six hours of Justin's solo DJ set at Mister Sunday in London on June 14, 2015. The mix is a perfect length for a drive from New York to DC, to fill up an entire workday (with a pause for a very long lunch), or for a slowly jogged marathon. Fun challenge: see if you can listen to the entire mix without going to bathroom. Justin told us he didn't take any breaks for his whole set that day.

Recorded directly from an E&S DJR400 at Oval Space. Big thanks to Sam for lending it to us.

Little Dragon are a band that really need no introduction. Since coming together in 1996, school friends and bandmates Yukimi Nagano, Fred Wallin, Erik Bodin and Håkan Wirenstrand have honed their infectious electronic synth-pop sound through four self-produced albums and various incredible features. Resulting in headline slots at Glastonbury, Bestival, Dimensions and Lollapalooza, this weekend Little Dragon come to East London as they embark on new DJ project Half Pony. Launching this weekend with the Tuckshop Summer Carnival, here's a taster of whats in store. Hit play on this exclusive Little Dragon DJ mix, venturing through some of the finest house, techno and club bangers.

Slovenian native and currently-Glasgow-based producer, Nightwave aka Maya Medvesek, is one of the most forward-thinking and impartial selectors and tastemakers in the UK. From Detroit techno to grime, Nightwave's taste is as expansive as ours is here at Nest HQ, which naturally we can fully respect and appreciate. 

Her open-minded approach to dance music also bleeds through into her own label, Heka Trax, whose releases have resembled all sorts of club music from Big Dope P, Lee Carvallo, Nightwave herself, and others since its establishment in the fall of 2013. She's worked at Red Bull Music Academy, collaborated with Rustie, Dense & Pika, and Glimpse, and played around the globe from Chicago to Sydney, so clearly we were honored to lock in this week's edition of the NHQ MiniMix with Maya.

When we approached Walker & Royce to make an album in 2016, we knew the guys were pioneering a new sound and thought they would make a timeless album traversing genres and moods.   Needless to say, “Self Help” blew away our expectations, hitting #1 on multiple charts and leading them on a sold-out tour that’s still going a year later. 

It’s impossible to change perfection, but the album was still ripe for some new interpretations from some close Dirtybird family and friends.  John Tejada re-appears after his first appearance on DB003 in 2005 with his remix and dub of “My Own Thang”, taking a stripped back approach with punchy drums and tweaked synths. Justin Martin & Ardalan team up for their take on “Can You Pass That”, with new drums and dramatic risers. Justin Jay surprises everyone with his deeper SoCal version of “Take Me To Your Leader”. J.Phlip is back with her acid lover’s remix of “Rub A Dub” feat. Green Velvet. Walker & Royce deliver their own rework of “Role Models” for their sets, and up and coming producer Franklyn Watts beefs up the bass on “Love and Marriage.” 

Overall, this package is loaded with great versions of W&Rs “Self Help,” so do yourself a solid and help yourself.

A-Trak teamed up with New York house legend Todd Terry for the single “DJs Gotta Dance More”: an ode to record-digging and bedroom beatmaking, driven by the OG’s gravelly voice. For the second of two lovingly curated remixes, French dance legends Cassius come in screaming with their sample-laden “Burnin’ Mix,” digging in the crates for a nine-minute dancefloor epic that’s already feeling like a modern classic.
