For their latest release, @Slit-Jockey-Records have been shrewd enough to tap up Saturate! Records founder and electronic mad scientist @Bios1. The EP, Ashki Chronicles, is a five-track affair that, for the most part, updates the classic Eski sound from '04 but with dashes of techno and various shades of club music stirred in. The title track, for example, features ultra-metallic Eski synths coupled with gritty, sawtooth synths and a massive bass line punching its way through the track. Don't slot Bios into the grime folder just yet because, as his back catalogue shows, there's so much more to his record bag than that.

Mr. Mitch's first foray of the year comes from 'cold war grime' specialist who graced our screens in our latest Boxed All-Stars episode, Loom. Following on from a 2015 run which struck Tarquin, Bloom and Iglew off their most wanted list, the European Heartache EP is next off the Gobstopper Records conveyor belt.

A struggle with identity forms the core theme for the project. "What's my identity when society dictates how I should present myself because of my race, sex, religion, sexual preference?", asks the young beat fiend in his press release.

Our choice, "Nylon", is the epitome of that heartache; a plunge into the deeper, more romantic realms of instrumental grime and led by the yearning cries of a square wave topline.

European Heartache EP is set to be delivered in time for Valentine's.
