The epic productions from Full Intention just keep rolling. Following up on their last production on Defected, ‘Keeping Pushing’, which climbed to #1 in the Traxsource chart as well as a remix on the recent Fourth Floor re-release Black Riot ‘A Day In The Life’, Michael Gray and Jon Pearn can do no wrong. 

Originally released in 2001 on Defected, ‘Love Is Not A Game’ by J Majik now gets the Full Intention treatment, alongside a rare drum and bass diversion from Defected by Mr Majik himself. The undeniable strengths of the original ‘Love Is Not A Game’ shine through in these remixes while its basic core elements have been turned on their head. Kathy Brown’s commanding voice soars while the original minimal drum and bass bottom line is switched up for a classic Full Intention house-inclined 4/4. On the flip side is J Majik with his stripped-back drum and bass version, which has all the same pace from his Metalheadz days and a suitably souped-up, rolling bassline.

Known for a melting-pot sound fused by a key drive to compose deep and soulful electronic music, the duo’s take on ‘Do You Want Me Baby’ slots perfectly into these eclectic ideals; a warm serving of bass-driven house with depth, the result. Plus with Total Science’s Toolroom support already including Bailey, DJ Marky, Friction and Mistajam, this re-lick holds promise to once more cause waves with the bass scene elite.

Finally, no remixes are ever possible without a fantastic source, and so it is Toolroom’s privilege to offer a fresh master of Simonelli’s US house classic for 2012. Play it Down #3 came this week in the form of a very nice sultry track from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs featuring the vocals of Luisa from Lulu and The Lampshades. PID003 see's Jesse Rose flipping it nice and jazzy and breathing a floor ready treatment over the melancholy of the original.

As a tribute to the incredible show of strength that the global community of first responders, workers, and everyday people have shown during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, a special tribute video will also be released online with all proceeds going to organizations helping to tackle the pandemic.
