With "Beach of Lies", Meli De steps beyond the intimate rain‑soaked rooms of their debut and wanders into a wider, more deceptive landscape — one where beauty and betrayal coexist in the same breath. The duo’s signature blend of melancholic indie folk remains unmistakable, but here it is reshaped by a new palette of coastal ambience: distant waves, shifting winds, and the quiet hum of a shoreline that promises solace yet hides its own quiet truths.

The interplay between the female and male baritone vocals grows even more nuanced, their harmonies drifting like two tides meeting — sometimes gentle, sometimes turbulent, always deeply human. The piano, still the emotional anchor of their sound, takes on a more cinematic quality, its sustained chords echoing across a sonic horizon that feels both expansive and fragile. Subtle electronic textures and soft percussive pulses weave through the arrangements, hinting at movement beneath the surface.

Lyrically and atmospherically, "Beach of Lies" explores the spaces between illusion and honesty, longing and resignation, memory and the stories we tell ourselves to survive. The production remains pristine and intimate, but the emotional world is broader, more windswept, inviting listeners into a reflective journey where every shimmer of sound feels like a footprint in shifting sand.

This second album is a quiet reckoning — an exploration of the heart’s hidden coastlines — crafted with the same restraint, clarity, and aching beauty that define Meli De’s unmistakable voice.
