The brainchild of frontman Liam McCormick, The Family Crest began as a recording project in 2009 with co-founder/bassist John Seeterlin. “We always liked making music with people—getting a bunch of people together and singing. So we put ads everywhere,” says McCormick. “We posted on Craigslist and emailed old friends from school.” The outcome was greater than the original duo imagined, with 80 people credited on the first recording the band produced. From that a seven-piece core band emerged, though the Crest boasts over 400 “Extended Family” members.

The Family Crest - When The Lights Go Out

Nothing has been the same since the 3rd of January... Stefan Holmberg left us all with broken hearts, and a treasure to care for and share with the world.

Killers walk among us' tremendous debut album was finished and ready to be released when band leader Stefan suddenly decided to take his life. It's been difficult time for everyone involved. But the music and art should eventually win, and the album will finally come out this spring. It all starts at Pustervik in Göteborg this Saturday, a very special event paying tribute to Stefan and at the same time celebrate the release of the album which became his lifework together with bandmates in KWAU.

We are happy that so many fantastic bands and artists are taking part; Audrey, Hunt, Tyred Eyes, Tar.. Feathers, Christine Owman, Steso Songs, Tigers of the Temple, Winter Took His Life and Ceremonies will all share the stage with KWAU. The entrance is FREE and the vinyl will be available especially for this evening, before it's officially out in May. Come and join us!

Since the release of 'Everything Touching' late last year, the Brighton-based trio have nurtured a growing army of fans, been favourably compared to the likes of Battles, Minus The Bear, Sigur Rós and Biffy Clyro, and show no signs of slowing down during 2013.  

'Phosphorescence' follows Tall Ships’ March headline tour of the UK, which saw the band playing bigger venues than ever culminating in a sold out show at London’s Scala.  More recently, Tall Ships set sail for America and SXSW where, fuelled by beer and burgers, they played their first US dates to enthusiastic crowds.  (Snoop Dogg and Usher even dropped by for one gig!)  

Sailing onwards, Tall Ships tour mainland Europe throughout April, dropping anchor in France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany, before returning to Brighton for a hometown show at The Great Escape in May.  

Tall Ships’ Phosphorescence single will be released on 15th April via Big Scary Monsters/Blood & Biscuits.
