Another jam with the Electribe, Volca Bass, and TB-03

Europa

Tonight's spacey acid house jam. Sequenced and performed all the parts on the Electribe. Ran MIDI out from the ES2 to the TB03, and then through to the Volca Bass.

Ganymede

The original version of Ganymede I uploaded was a couple of boxes on my coffee table recorded 2 track off the tb-03. I was setting my studio up today and decided to use Ganymede as a test. In this version we have the Electribe 2 and TB-03 like before, but the Volca Bass is replaced by the Monologue. Added in are the Volca FM and Minilogue. Everything is running through the MX-1.

Ganymede (Studio)

Today's jam session. Tried to go harder and darker than the other tracks. Didn't quite get to where I was trying to go, but I like the way it came out. The setup: Electribe 2, TB-03, Monologue, Minilogue, Volca FM, and MX-1. Live jam recorded in one take. Mixed in Reason.

Titan

Acid house jam with a couple of boxes on the coffee table. The Electribe 2 is the sequencer and drum machine. Synths: TB-03 and Monologue.  Recorded stereo off the TB-03 into Reason.

I'm not sure happy with this one. I feel like it needs more work. I wanted to go for something faster with hard, distorted and over-driven synths. I always get what I want out of the TB-03 but the Monologue is more challenging. The tone isn't quite what I want so I'll work on it more.

Muon

Wanted to do a stripped down back-to-basic acid house track. My original idea was just the TB-03 and Monologue along with 909 samples on the Electribe. After playing around with it a bit I threw a bit more in but I kept it fairly minimal. This recording is pretty long but whenever I started to bring things down to take the track out I'd hear the synths and just needed to bring it up again. Nice and simple house fun!

Neutrino

This track is pretty minimal; it's just the Volca Bass, FM, and Beats running through the MX-1. The TB-03 usually takes center stage on my tracks, so I wanted to give the Volca Bass some time in the spotlight. I decided to use the FM for the syncopated bass; maybe the track didn't need it, but I thought it brought some energy. No Electribe this time. All the sequencing was done on the Volcas connected by analog sync cables.

Boson

A fun Volca Sample experiment. I wanted to see if I could produce a track with nothing but the VS. The setup here is just the Sample running through a Kaoss Pad Mini 2S and a custom sample bank I created myself. I used the KP2S to record this session and to add tempo based effects at transitions. I had a lot of fun pushing the Volca Sample!

Another Volca Sample experiment. The setup here is the same as the last VS1 track I uploaded: Volca Sample with my custom sample bank running through the KP2S. Everything is sequenced and performed on the VS. I event attempted to mimic filter modulation on one of the synth parts by changing its start point in real time

Entries are supposed to be tracks made from only 2 sound sources, but with as many effects and overdubs as desired. For my two sound sources I'm using a Volca Sample and TB-03. I recorded on a Kaoss Pad Mini 2S and used the beat effects on that. I imported the WAV from the KP2S into Reason to increase the volume and throw some master effects (reverb and EQ) on it.

This profile is where I upload various jams and experiments. All the music on here is produced on hardware and recorded live. I'm interested in exploring how limitations and chance can lead to fun and interesting music, as well as producing electronic music that can be performed and enjoyed live.
