Heraclitus considered fire as the most fundamental element. He believed fire gave rise to the other elements and thus to all things. He regarded the soul as being a mixture of fire and water, with fire being the noble part of the soul, and water the ignoble part. A soul should therefore aim toward becoming more full of fire and less full of water: a "dry" soul was best. 

Fire, unlike the other elements, does not exist in a natural state. Its physical form can only take place by consuming some other element. Fire is the transformer, converting the energy of other objects into other forms: heat, light, ash, and smoke.

Every now and again there comes a gig which really reminds me why I spend so much of my life making the music I do, and Noisily 2017 was one of those. Noisily is a celebration of electronic music like no other...small, but with a selective lineup of great artists, amazing stage production, and one of the friendliest, most up-for-it crowds you'll find anywhere.

This year, the organisers gave me the priviliage of playing the closing set on the Noisily Stage on Saturday night, and I think it's fair to say it went down a storm. For those of you who were there and want to check out my set again, or for those that missed it and would like to take a listen, here's a recording of my set from that night.

In it, you'll hear tracks from my new album Living in the Future, a few other favourite releases, plus quite a few exclusive tracks which I've yet to release.

This week we turn to one of the brightest whiz kids Australia has given birth too. 

Hailing from the Mornington Peninsula, Paddy Carroll is establishing himself as a producer to watch out for on the global scene. Starting off bashing drums about it from a young age, he quickly discovered the realms of electronic dance music. Soon he started to explore a darker, more minimal groove within his adventurous musical mind, a sub-genre of techno that makes up the definition of the Unknown Concept. 

2020 has seen the lad release tunage on labels such as Techgnosis Records, Jaw Dropping Records, Digital Diamonds and Euphorie Bezirk. Whilst having his music played and fangirled all around the world by global legends such as Dr. Motte. 


We suggest you clear the loungeroom and get some active wear on, as you will be treated to yet another fascinating insight into the musical mind of this local genius.

Neurodriver, aka Dom Smart, is a UK-based producer, sound designer, audio software developer and DJ, with a long string of releases to his name.

His genre-defying music blends influences from techno, house and psychedelia into a futuristic hybrid of hypnotic sound, expertly crafted for full-range sound systems. Being a classically-trained musician and an expert sound designer, his music possesses an emotional diversity ranging from grinding machine rhythms to moments of sublime beauty– equally at home on sun-drenched festival stages, or dark, peak-time dance floors.

As a DJ, Dom’s energetic and improvisatory sets have rocked clubs and festival dancefloors all over the world, including Fabric, Glastonbury, Burning Man, Boom, Glade, Noisily, and many more. And when he’s not DJing or writing music, Dom develops music software with his company, Devious Machines.
