Yancey is a producer from Auckland, New Zealand; A multi-instrumentalist with an eclectic sound he describes as a social experiment of genres, Yancey’s productions are a mixture of constantly evolving rhythms & grooves with a unique style stemming from a love for underground music culture, with deep roots in hip hop, dub, jungle/drum & bass and the many contemporary sub genres that stem from each. 

Now residing in the UK, Yancey has built quite a name for himself in his homeland’s underground music scene & beyond, with his music being released & featured by notable labels including 1Forty, Quality Goods Records & Sony Music NZ, played on Rinse FM, BBC Radio 1, Subtle, Noisia Radio & regularlly on GeorgeFM in his home country where he held down a recent residency, & supported by notable producers the likes of Sir Spyro, Plastician, Cesco, & Sepia. This notoriety has led him to perform renowned showcases for the likes of Redbull, 1985 Music, & SWU:FM.

"With this mix I wanted to go on a bit of a journey through the multi faceted array of genres within the 140 realm I’ve been digging at the moment, got a few ID’s/new ones from myself & a bunch from the homies peppered amongst as well, expect bass, breaks & contemporary beats galore."

The track blends minimal drums, sub pressure, and dark atmosphere. 'Depth Charge' sees seek:id go solo—low-slung and spacious, with gritty mids and rolling percussion. Drawing from South London influence, the release sits in the deeper end of dubstep, tuned for sound system play."
