Màgia Roja label/club/community collaborators, mostly known for this
work with Dame Area but his solo project Futuro de Hierro is equally (or more?) interesting.  The loud repetitive broken beats, noises and
powerful delivered Spanish vocals make up for a punk influenced industrial techno sound which borders rhythmic noise at times, like
something in between Liaisons Dangereuses, Esplendor Geométrico and Sonar.
This is an uncompromising EP filled with harsh tracks that still work
for the dance floor. Especially for those fed up with hearing the same
beat over and over and over again…

The Feeding

Since its inception in 2019, the Porto based Eastern Nurseries label has released a string of noteworthy titles, yet the first two outings by Canadian Rifles, the solo moniker of label founder Rui P. Andrade, remain defining pillars in the labels discography.

These first two releases, Canadian Rifles ‘Eastern Nurseries’ album and the follow up single ‘Of Course I Still Love You / Geranium’ sprawl with acute emotive clangour and venerable opulence, their soundscapes conjuring visions of windswept cities, blemished technology and inherent tenderness. 

Now these works have been carefully reassembled on one expanded reissue, remastered by Daniele Antezza of Dadub mastering and featuring two new remixes by Dino Spiluttini and Burning Pyre.

A quick follow-up to 2019’s Studies For a Vortex, composed during the quarantine months in Portugal. Gone are many of the “warmer” elements and the obvious human touches that comprised the full length debut, with no scrap metal, no drums, and no vocals outside of the occasional samples. In its place, we’re confronted with 8 tracks of cold, synthesized throb and terminally doomed electronic currents, threaded with crackling skuzz, shuffling debris, and ominous interference. It’s a stripped down and despondent recording, about the loss of what we have as human beings, our capability to feel, experience and create, and most certainly appropriate and befitting of current times.

His music is eclectic and influenced by various genres and styles, he's made a nice name for himself after a stand out live and DJ sets, definitely one of the best in modern industrial electronics
