to push a tune to 2 minutes was the goal of this track, prior to this most only ended between 30 secs to a minute.

New Doctrine

I didn't understand music at this point and tried to make every melody as least repetitive as possible, this was me reluctantly giving up on that: not understanding what it meant that I could even recognize these patterns to begin with. My newer stuff embraces the need for repetition, albeit not as rehashes of the same tune as w/ this, gristle, and the other.

Originally named "Orderly Gristle", though I feel that the prefix doesn't fit. It never has, no matter how many times I changed it. 
The song is much to lonely for anything to work. Perhaps "Gristle" is the best fit after all?

Listening back to this song years later, I've found that (of my early works,) this song is the easiest for my brain to follow. This was when I really started to understand music and start getting experimental.
Easily the best that I've posted so far.

At the time, to me, it was an utter disappointment. The melody itself felt like too much of the same to me, as I didn't know how to capitalize on buildup yet. It felt too formulaic, despite my efforts.
I see now that I'd misjudged it. Or perhaps I'm seeing something else?

Gristle

Originally intended to be a part of an OST for a webcomic concept.

Having rediscovered my post here now years later, I'm listening back to it and remembering the mindset I had while making it. Perhaps was I misguided in my quest to push as many instruments as I could? Perhaps was I misguided in my efforts to force my concepts past 1 minute?

The name, "Cardinal Vitality", is a pretentious way of saying "Fundamental Drive/Inspiration/Liveliness/etc". God, I was such an edgelord when I was younger.

Listening back, it seems scattered. Overbearing. While I still believe my efforts weren't in vain, perhaps the right critique could've made me feel better about my compositions. It's all buildup, and the payoff isn't satisfying. It's hard to even push through given my harshly blunt instrument-use.
