From Steven Ruel's debut album on New Dawn, "Ecce Nemo".
This was the initial project that inspired the creation of New Dawn Media. Steven's innovative ideas and tireless work ethic provide for one of the most stunning saxophone performances since the dawning of the instrument. After years of composing and refining his sound, Steven's "Ecce Nemo" cannot be thought of as 'experimental' or 'free'. Each composition focuses on a different part of the horn, digging into natural harmonics, highlighting and opening up the smallest cracks in the sound of the horn. We used four microphones to capture everything from the bell, mouthpiece and room acoustics. Here's a free download, we hope you enjoy.

#1 - Ecce Nemo - Steven Ruel

This is a track from ARK's self-titled debut album, "ARK". Founded in 2009, this collaborative group does everything from originals, covers and standards. The band features Carlos Homs on piano, Colin Stranahan on drumset and Karl McComas Reichl on bass. This is their arrangement of Elmo Hope's "Barfly".
