A feel good tune, with a feel good lyric. 
The realisation that finally you know what you want, and where you want to be, and going for it. 

Feeling Fine

A song about a tall ship returning home to England after a long voyage, only to be met by a terrific storm which blocks their way and could well result in their destruction.

Big Sky

A mellow track, featuring slide guitar - a first for us.
The lyric poses the question 'What would we do if the sun just stopped shining' and ultimately, is about how we rely on the sun for everything we have.

No Life On The Sun

A folksy little tune, about avoiding conflict and avoiding responsibility.
What's the saying 'When the going gets tough, I tend to run away'  Haha.
Originally written in the early 80's, and recorded by New England as a demo, we never really captured it's best potential, so here we are... enjoy.

Running Away

This is a classic New England song. Truly an epic track.
It traces the trials and emotions of man through the length of a year.
There are quiet parts, and there are loud parts, some fast some slow, even key changes.  What more could you want from a prog song.
     A new recording/interpretation of a song originally written and recorded in 1985 but never released. 
     We finally think we got it right...   enjoy and share.       

January Man

Breaking Cover is the cautionary tale of the pursuit of a fox by horsemen and their hounds.
Originally written by New Englandback in 1986, a demo was recorded. This is the updating and re-recording with Nick Holgate back on the drums...

South-end Boys harks back to Keith Hartley's childhood years. 
Growing up on the edge of a small town set amongst the farmland and countryside.  The summers were long, and the kids from the south-end of town would gather together to run and play in the fields and woodland from morning 'til twilight.

South-End Boys

An intense track about an encounter with a malevolent, ghostly apparition.
Written and first recorded in 1981 by Pyramid, the band which preceded New England. Drew and Keith played Bass and Guitar respectively.
The song was written by Keith, Ian Patrick and Lyrics by Jon Price during the first incarnation of that band.
It's been a long time favourite and, we really thought it deserved a new airing, hence this version.

White Lady

As writers of music it is difficult not to be influenced by the music which we ourselves listen to and admire.  We are often surprised by the parallels drawn by others. 
However we are always striving for individuality, and distinctiveness... our own style and sound.
The 'Mocking Bird' in this song represents the critic in us all, that just sees the similarities rather than the distinctiveness.

Mocking Bird

"It's not you it's me. I still love you but I'm not 'in love' with you.
I want more from my life."  One view of the bitter aftertaste resulting from the break-up of a marriage, as seen by the instigator.

Reflection in a Mirror

A track inspired by Russia's massive and unconventional aeroplane, the Ekranoplan. Designed, in secret, to fly less than 20 feet above the waves it was also known as the Caspian Sea Monster. An incredible machine born of the cold war.
This is a re-working of our 2015 track featuring new drum tracks and a new mix.

A tale of nobility and compassion in a time of war.
Inspired by the experiences of 2nd Lt Charles "Charlie" Brown and the crew of his B17 Flying Fortress, 'Ye Olde Pub', and their encounter with the Luftwaffe pilot Franz Stigler, as described in the book 'A Higher Call'.

Each choice we make has the potential to lead us down a different, possibly unintended, path with unexpected consequences.
Something a little different for New England - a more straight ahead, short sharp, rock tune.

Come To Me

Reformed in 2014, New England originally came together in 1983, gigging, writing music and recording in the Bradford area until the demise of the band, due to pressures of personal life,in 1985.

In the last couple of years the members of the band members have found a renewed desire to rekindle their friendship and the music.

What you find here are the results, some new, some old favourites...   Hope you enjoy.
