Future treatments for migraine

This is a recording of the exact same segment of male wolf spider courtship, but recorded from above the spider with a standard microphone. It's what you would hear if you were in the room with the courting spider. It's very quiet but loud enough for scientists to think it could be somehow used in communication in this species as well as the vibrations, despite spiders lacking typical ears.

This is the sound of vibrations created by a courting male wolf spider as they move through a leaf. It represents what most spiders use for communication. Ordinarily this is inaudible but here the sound of vibrations through a leaf was captured via a Laser Doppler Vibrometer, which fires a laser at the vibrating surface to convert light reflections into audible sound.
