New Western is not the hillbilly music of the South, not the trail driver music of the Southwest, but the new sound of the Big West. Geographically from the Ozark Mountains, Ohio River Valley, and the Great Lakes, westward to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and the High Sierra, this is the music of the grasslands, the rolling vastness of the Great Plains, the cities that sprang up from nowhere, the desserts, rivers and lakes of America’s true heartland from Texas to Wisconsin. Where trains haul cattle and freight, not briefcased commuters.

New Western comprises the songs of the open road, the songs of wild love, unrequited or otherwise. Stories of the New West, whether city dwellers, dairy farmers, oil workers, ranchers or linemen. Men and women at work and play, in search of life and all its meanings.

The sound of New Western is a driving lead guitar bending to the rhythm of Big Band Swing. It’s accordions playing foot-stomping modern polka or a delicate waltz with fiddle and acoustic guitar.
