Tempah has created a new wave of Reggae and Hip-hop that has existed from Jamaica to the streets of Brooklyn. Many of our current hip-hop artists have done collaborations with Reggae artists and vice versa. The infusion of these two art forms has been long over due. Tempah is also a founding member of Peer Pressure Family recording label, who bridge this gap. To produce artist that will cater specifically to the genre of Reggae Hip-hop, he first began his career as a song writer at the early age of 14. Performing at talent shows in Jamaica (imitating artist Professor Nuts), and the street credibility of holding (Vibes) Ciphers, earning his reputation as a lyricist. 
Hip-hop culture has been influenced by many genres; from Jazz to R&B, even Rock n Roll. The major influence of Hip-hop culture has been and continues to be Reggae music. This unique sound was born on the island of Jamaica and has earned it's place amongst history. This sound which is referred to as the "RIDDIM" produces Mega stars such as Bob Marley, Yellow Man, Supa Cat, Beenie Man, Sean Paul and the list goes on, has all contributed to this art form.

It was the summer of 1979 that Jamaican born DJ Kool Herc returned from his native land with a innovative style that mirrored the Sound systems of Jamaica. He helped pave the way for artists, giving them a voice on the streets of New York. By the mid 80's the emergence of reggae and hip-hop began to filter through every borough like wild fire. It was only natural for the two genre to infuse! Artist like KRS ONE, HEAVY D, CHUB Rock, etc has used reggae as a natural flow within their craft. With diligence and confidence, Tempah aim to open the genre of Reggae/hip-hop once and for all.
