Kjære lytter. En begravelse er en anledning til å si farvel, takke for livet som har vært og for å samles i sorgen. Solosang gir dybde til seremonien og tonesetter det eksistensielle. Og i den forbindelse ønsker jeg som solist (selv akkompagnert med piano og gitar) å gi dere som pårørende den tryggeste og beste opplevelsen dere kan få.

Derfor har jeg tilgjengeliggjort mine tolkninger av begravelse sanger, så dere kan velge.

Ragnarök is an original song inspired by the Poetic Edda. It's telling the story about the end of life, but also about a new beginning. In the Old Norse way of thinking people have always seen life as a moving cycle. Something has to die to be reborn again. 
Tagelharpa is played by Kjirk (Jiří Hájek)

Ragnarök

The Hringrás album stands for "cycle" - and portrays the differences between life and death in the Viking age, but also the continuing loop(cycle) of life, death, and rebirth.

"Lifa & Dauðr" - a song on the album is literally portraying this through recorded sounds of living and dead things.

“All sounds and instruments (except a tagelharpa), in the death part of the song, were recorded and made from dead or decayed objects and materials, even real human bones were recorded and used in the recordings. The song is six minutes long and starts with Lifa (life), then slowly moves into the Dauðr (death) part in the middle of the song around the three-minute mark. At that point, all living things are removed and replaced with recordings or sounds of dead objects.”

The song was created in a similar theme and musical notes all the way through, so as not to portray life as ‘happier’ than death, and not to portray death as more ‘unhappy’ than life.

Óðinn

The Valkyrjur (Meaning Valkyries in Old Norse) where female figures who choose who may die in battle and who may live. The Valkyries bring the chosen to the afterlife. One half of the chosen goes to Valhalla where the God Odin feasts with his warriors till Ragnarök and the other half goes to the Goddess Freya in Fólkvangr.
