Brave Captain

The band consists of Emma Underwood (vocals), Jaz Oehley (Guitar and vocals), Paddy Spruce (Drums and percussion) and Rich Lavery (Bass). We are occasionally accompanied by the New Age Father Of Funk, Rob Hague (Hammond Organ). A shared love of funk, soul, rock, jazz and other classic styles along with the chemistry we found together led us to take a collection of songs and gig them around the local area. Our reaction from audiences has been incredibly positive and we encourage people to get up and dance as much as possible.

Our usual set includes songs such as Indian Rope Man (Richard Havens), Brave Captain (fIREHOSE), Pressure And Time (Rival Sons), Why Don’t You Do Right? (Kansas Joe McCoy) as well as more modern funk numbers such as Can’t Stop (RHCP) and popular tunes like Take Me To The River (Al Green/The Commitments).
