Stone Empire originated in 2011 when lead Vocalist and Guitarist Justin Dorin found himself with a head full of music and a heart full of pain. Since then they've gone from strength to strength. We had a chat to Justin recently about what the band has coming up and their campaign to crowd fund a tour of America.

The Western Australian born comic is brining her new show, “Ask No Questions Of The Moth” to the Civic Theatre in Newcastle on the 18th of July. We chatted to Judith ahead of her arrival about growing up in WA, the risk of audience participation and how she came up with the title for the show.

Reece Mastin came to fame in Australia when he won the 2011 series of The X Factor. His magnetic stage presence and killer vocals established him in the scene with a legion of dedicated, loyal fans, affectionately known as Lil Rockers. Reece has since released two Platinum selling, #1 albums and 3 consecutive chart-topping singles. Reece has also toured extensively since 2011 – most recently in September 2014.

Reece will be in Newcastle on June 14 as part of his Rebel And The Reason tour at the Cambridge Hotel. We spoke to Reece ahead of his arrival about the show, his social media and what it's like to be labeled a heart throb.

Cassandra Morris is an American actress best known for providing voice overs for video games and animated series, such as Sword Art Online, Madoka Magica, League of Legends and Yu-Gi-Oh!

Born in Connecticut, Cassandra spent much of her school years in New York. Her interest in acting formed at an early age, and after performing in community theatre Cassandra set about getting an agent and started acting professionally around the age of 13 in commercials, theatre and voiceovers.

After leaving high school Cassandra studied Journalism at NYU. Tying in with her love of reading and writing she started narrating audio books, predominately reading for children and young adult fiction. Cassandra’s narration credits include Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars and The Magic School Bus, and over 150 other titles.

Cassandra’s extensive animation work includes Yubel in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Leo and Luna in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s, Taiga in Toradora!, Ritsu Tainaka inK-On!, Kyubey in Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Patema in Patema Inverted, Sue in Doraemon, Amy in Gargantia on the Verduous Planet, Nee in Blue Exorcist, Usamaru in Blue Exorcist: The Movie, Calaveras in Sailor Moon and Leafa in Sword Art Online.

INTERVIEW: Cassandra Morris

Veronica Taylor is a classically trained actor who has performed in NYC and around the U.S. in contemporary and classical theatre.

She has done numerous voices for animation, video games, audiobooks, commercials, and documentaries.

Her voice has been a part of Saturday morning cartoons for some time now. She is probably best known for playing the roles of Ash and May on Pokemon, April on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and roles inCubix, Dinosaur King, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Huntik, Tai Chi Chasers, and more.

She can be heard on PBS kids’ Word World (Sheep), Lunch Lab(Mixiebot), and Chuck Vanderchuck’s ‘something something’ Explosion! (Ramona).

Current projects include Sailor Pluto on Sailor Moon, Mofy (Mofy, Mogu, Sora), Astroblast (Sputnik), and Welcome to the Wayne (Spy from 8-i).

Some anime favorites include Amelia on Slayers, Yukino on His and Hers Circumstances, all 7 Nana’s on Nana Seven of Seven, and Narue on World of Narue, as well as many others.

INTERVIEW: Veronica Taylor

After leaving Triple J, where he co hosted the national youth station's breakfast show, comedian Tom Ballard wanted to focus on live stand up. And it's gone pretty well for him. He'll be showing Novocastrians just what he's learned when he lands at the Civic Theatre this weekend (June 5, 6 & 7) for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow. 

We had a chat to Tom ahead of his arrival about how he approaches festival gigs, fans who know his personal and intimate details and what he's got planned for his debut at the Edinburgh fringe festival.

The Crystals "Wall of Sound" recordings, produced by the legendary Phil Spector such as ‘And Then He Kissed Me’, ‘Da Do Ron Ron' are regarded as some of the greatest songs of all time. The all female American vocal group featuring Dee Dee Kenninebrew will give local music fans a chance to hear those songs live when they roll into Wests Leagues Club on Wednesday the 29th July.

Dee Dee started singing professionally at age 15 with The Crystals, honing her craft while working and watching acts like “Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, Dionne Warwick, The Commodores,” and many others. Dee Dee went to school with Gregory Hines, Patty Duke, and Bernadette Peters among other stars .While the original girls left one by one in the sixties for various personal reasons and other pursuits, she has carried on The Crystals all the way into the new millennium.

We chatted to Dee Dee ahead of the group's arrival in Newcastle.

American actor, Christopher Knight became a member of many families through his role as Peter Brady on the hit TV show The Brady Bunch. He’s be making his first appearance at the SUPANOVA pop culture expo in Sydney next weekend (19-21 June).

Since the series ended in 1974, Christopher has gone on to pursue careers outside of television but have remained involved in the industry on and off, with appearances on film, soapies and reality shows.

This will be Christopher’s first pop culture expo outside of the United States. We chatted to him about what he’s expecting when he lands in Sydney, what it’s like to meet fans who think they’e part of his family and a bunch more. It’s a great interview which you can hear below.
