Kim Anthony, otherwise known as Miss Kim, was not only an idol to the under-fives, she became the longest-serving Romper Room host in the world. The program started on NBN in 1967 and ran for more than three decades

But Kim actually started on NBN as a teenager in 1962 as a cast member in the children's talent show Swallow's Juniors, which was years ahead of young talent time.﻿

But it was her role as Miss Kim that made her a local star and she joined Tracy Mac to tell us about her time at Romper Room and what she is up to now.

Jeanette Hankinson is a trial blazer - she was the first female sports host in Australia, was reporting on the environment in the early 90s; well before it became cool, and was an integral part of the Prime Newcastle Newsroom team that was created from scratch!

﻿Since that time she has gone on to become a well-known and highly acclaimed author under the pen names of Jaye Ford and ﻿Janette Paul.

Boss of Vaccination Hub pleased with first day turn out

The Hunter's vaccination hub has delivered its first doses on Monday morning! ﻿

The Belmont venue is expected to hit full capacity in the next three weeks when it will roll out 20,000 doses each week﻿. NEW TELEVISION DRAMA STARS NOVOCASTRIAN

Channel 7 premiered "﻿﻿RFDS" ﻿on Wednesday August 11; and there was a familiar face amongst the cast. ﻿Filmed on location in Broken Hill, RFDS tells the story of the doctors, nurses, pilots and support staff who work at a Royal Flying Doctors Service base.﻿

This is the first major television role for Novocastrian Sofia Nolan; with her character Taylor front and centre in the drama of episode one.
﻿
﻿Sofia is in Newcastle for lockdown and talked with Tracy Mac about filming and being based in Broken Hill for four months.

After beginning her career as a cadet journalist with NBN Television, Melinda Smith went on to co-anchor the 6 pm News bulletin for more than ten years. Her broadcast work also covered presenting on commercial and ABC Radio Networks.

Melinda farewelled her colleagues at NBN in April 2010 to devote time to family and study at the University of Newcastle.
