The early 2010s changed the sound of not only electronic music and dance music, but of everything from pop music to experimental acts. Dubstep had arrived, and its impact was undeniable. Now we can look back on that pivotal moment with a knowledge and a nostalgia that only time can forge.

Mendum’s newest release, “Tell Me Why”, is at once a heart-wrenching plea, a celebration of sweaty nights in the club remembered only dreamily, and a brief lesson in the evolution of dubstep over this last decade.
