At the end of last year, we celebrated the release of Jo “Schlammpeitziger” Zimmermann's brand new album “Meine Unterkunft ist die Unvernunft” on his 60th birthday at Kompakt Recordstore. Now we are delighted to present the accompanying remixes. An illustrious group of long-time companions has come together to pay tribute to the master of electronic eccentricity with remixes. Schlammpeitziger says thank you in his own way by immortalizing all the contributors with finely selected photos, hand-decorated on the cover.

What happens if Damon Albarn happens to appear next to you in the Maras salt mines in the Sacred Valley of Peru?

A song that celebrates the unexpected. Pure Love is the result of a cosmic spark between DJ Koze and Damon Albarn. The encounter in the surreal salt ponds, was the initial spark from which this deep and unfathomably mystical treasure was born.

The shimmering of these two souls opens a window onto a nocturnal scene where the scents of oriental spices dance through the air and the stars twinkle above us. The sky has never been as beguiling as it is today.

Pure Love is available in a total of three versions, in addition to the original version there is also a Night Version and a Day Version. These versions vividly showcase the magical transformation that this song has undergone to reach its final album form. Through a mysterious metamorphosis, the raw power of the Night Version and the lucid harmonies of the Day Version blend into an otherworldly song, completing its journey from darkness into light.

Berlin's youANDme teams up once again with Namibian vocalist and poet Black Soda for 'Believe' - a stunning, dub-infused deep house tune that immediately caught our attention. The original features a crisp groove work, underpinned by a pulsating bass and overlaid with warm synth textures and melodies that blend perfectly with Black Soda's otherworldly vocal performance - all tailored into an arrangement that's sure to satisfy dancers and home listeners alike. The originals are backed up by a stripped-down Dub that’s unmistakably made for the dancefloor, and the beatless Sea Of Strings mix for ambient listening pleasure. And as if that wasn't enough, the package is rounded off with some brilliant remix work. Rising South African DJ and producer Jackson Brainwave stick to the original vocal arrangement while masterfully transforming the tune into his signature Afro-House and 3-step style. Milano nightlife legends Futuro Tropicale and Luca Sapanaro aka Sapo join forces for some DJ-ready digital weapons on their Love Jam EP via Hell Yeah.

Futuro Tropicale famously moves between downtempo, new beat, Italo, disco and dream house in his legendary sets, while Luca Saponaro heads up Mad on the Moon, a label dedicated to free, psychedelic electronic dance music.

Their new EP kicks off with 'Love Jam' which is built on chunky drums with a fat bassline and lush chords that bring blissed-out vibes. 'Excite Me' sinks into dusty deep house dreamworld with pensive melodies and steamy vocals while 'Suboceana' is a lithe house jam with Italo melodic colour and retro-future synths that shine bright. 'Right Or Wrong' closes out with late-night soul and playful double claps that will bring great swagger to the party.
