The 25th episode of the Avenue Red Podcast series comes from Hydergine (AKA Roberto Corizzo), a Dub Techno producer and esteemed vinyl collector/DJ from Taranto, Italy. His productions are very deep and textural, most notable for having a somewhat futuristic and scientific aesthetic, which is one of the foundational concepts of his work under the Hydergine moniker - as Roberto explains: "The pseudonym is inspired by a smart drug used to improve the metabolism of brain cells and cognitive abilities such as intelligence, learning and memory".

His music has been released on a variety of well-respected labels including Separate Skills, Analog Response, Phlox, Ranges and Tiefenrausch. He is now on the cusp of his 7th vinyl release - pre-order available here: http://www.decks.de/t/hydergine-static_frames/c3w-g7 - which is forthcoming on the Dresden, Germany-based label Etui Records. Nathan Micay introduces a new label into the Schvitz family: Eternal Schvitz, a home for re- issues of those most rare slabs of wax. The inaugural release offers a sampler of coveted tunes from the fabled Baby Blue Records run by Chris Simmonds between1990-1993. Almost impossible to find, these tunes have become a thing of discogs legend, offering up a snapshot into the label's short but memorable run. Lovingly re-stored straight from the DAT tapes of yore. To fight the evil no-ID-DJ forces currently at work, every release will be providing 60% of the cut to the artists and ensuring their credits are front and centre. The remaining 40% of profits will go to aequa, a Berlin-based collective with a focus on empowerment of women, trans and non- binary folks through gatherings for interpersonal exchange. Schvitz is Love. Schvitz is communal.

With Solar Return EP, Bristol-based artist, Jon Chmielewski, who goes by the alias Zobol, continues to refine his space age-y, sci-fi leaning approach to dance music. Across three sprawling tracks, Zobol takes listeners on a voyage through distant, expansive, awe-inspiring soundscapes. 
	Opening track, “Rings of Saturn (Fading),” is a sonic portal into another dimension, one seemingly unbothered by the ordinary rules and logic of space and time. The track illustrates what it might feel like for one’s body, or a substance of some kind, to undergo a form of transmutation. Beginning with a skeletal kick-drum pattern, it quickly evolves with glistening synth arpeggios, atmospheric, reverberating keys, undulating bass, and squelchy acid hits. It’s almost as if the track takes on a life of its own as it continues mutating into a surprisingly graceful, multi-tiered organism with every new break. 
	Dropping on July 31st via Birmingham-based Erbium Records, this track is refreshingly organic and tuneful, while still retaining a mechanized, heady approach. While Zobol’s work here might not be exactly humanist, it certainly has a mercurial, exploratory quality to it that feels very much the work of someone who is tirelessly searching for new, inventive ways of synthesizing machine-made sounds for the dancefloor.

This release is the first in a three-part series titled “Musica Australis Incognita” showcasing timeless and captivating contemporary electronic music from a new-generation of Australian producers.

The series starts in Melbourne with Solar Suite’s solo debut (Escape Artist remixing) on the 16th of October. In early December, the spotlight moves to Sydney with another solo debutant, Point Guard at the controls with a PMA remix. Finally, in late January we see the return of DJ Life to the label with a fellow Melbournian Rudolf C on remix duties.

FINA White kicks off 2021 by notching up a fantastic 10th EP, this time from BufoBufo. The hotly tipped UK artist serves up four more of his thrilling electro, rave and hardcore fusions that cannot fail to blow up any spot.

The co-founder of Ritual Poison Records and Batrachian Records has been fuelling sweaty dance floors with his productions since 2017. They are always physical and emotional affairs that have come on the likes of Furthur Electronix, Tone Dropout, Kouncil Cuts, Partout and Ecstasy Garage Disco, and now he comes through with another treasure trove of top tunes.

Endless Rhythm has a quick house beat with muted acid lines, jazzy chords and a nagging vocal sample that all adds up to an impassioned and soulful groove. Lily Pad is more unfixed with a prickly 303 darting about the mix next to balmy pads and a prickly percussive line that demands you move. It's Changing has a deep but driving bassline and another heartfelt vocal sample that adds a real sense of melancholy to the futuristic and soulful house beats. Night Visions close out with some dusty old breakbeats that keep you on your toes and lost in a cinematic world of sci-fi pads.
