It's been a while! I don’t remember making the song so much as the endless hours fine tuning of the song. I’ve always loved writing songs with a simple & catchy melody, but with simple melodies comes the task of making a song that is exciting for its entirety without becoming old. I decided to incorporate a classically inspired riff as a focal point in the melody and, while it was difficult to blend it into the other sections of the song, I believe it was worth it. I grew up playing classical piano and I find myself always being drawn back into classical sounding melodic lines. While I have quite a bit of music theory knowledge from piano, musical composition and arrangement is something I had to wholly teach myself. It’s a lifelong journey, and I feel like I owe a large part of where I am and where I’m going in my musical career to Chiptunes = WIN due to their endless support and positivity.
