How I came to this work.

Bruce H. Lipton, PhD is an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. Stem cell biologist, bestselling author of The Biology of Belief and recipient of the 2009 Goi Peace Award, he has been a guest speaker on hundreds of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national and international conferences.

Dr. Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist. He received his Ph.D. Degree from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville before joining the Department of Anatomy at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine in 1973. Dr. Lipton’s research on muscular dystrophy, studies employing cloned human stem cells, focused upon the molecular mechanisms controlling cell behavior. An experimental tissue transplantation technique developed by Dr. Lipton and colleague Dr. Ed Schultz and published in the journal Science was subsequently employed as a novel form of human genetic engineering.

HOST: Journalist Nicole Marie Whitney first launched The News for the Soul Broadcasting Network in January 1997 as a ‘positive news newspaper‘ just after a remarkable event where ‘God talked to her in her living room’. The Voice as she called it back then told her to create and publish a positive news newspaper. She thought it was a terrible idea. Perceived obstacles at the time included not knowing how to make a news paper, nor having the contacts or resources to do so. She also had 3 incurable diseases and was isolated at home alone raising two children on her own on disability. Further to that, she’d endured a lifetime of extreme challenge up to this point – abandonment at birth, living with two very abusive adoptive parents for 13 years and then finally ending up alone with no family or home by the time she was 15. Throughout it all, she had the strong sense that something was ‘with her’ – that she was not alone even when she was alone. And the difficulties themselves instigated heightened perceptions and awarenesses beyond the ‘normal senses’. These heightened senses and several ‘unusual events’ all came into play as things came together. The burning desire to help others who had felt the way she had – disempowered, alienated, non normal, limited, unwell and afraid. To understand the true potential of our lives and what we’re really capable of – all this has culminated in the existence of News for the Soul – in its 18th year and growing strong.

In the 1980s when Maxine was in her late teens, she finally agreed to undertake a thirteen year apprenticeship with a woman who loved the Earth. Her teacher taught her of the Shamanic roots and hidden history of this land, Wales, encouraging her to travel and train with other Shamanic teachers and healers. Maxine trained with Sacred Trust and is registered with them as a Shamanic Practitioner and has completed Sandra Ingerman’s two year teacher training course (shamanicteachers.com). She is a member of the Society for Shamanic Practice and The Foundation for Shamanic Studies. In her thirty-three years of Shamanic Practice Maxine has taught and facilitated healing ceremonies extensively in Wales and The Forest of Dean.

Maxine has been blessed with the opportunity to study and undertake ceremony in Europe, USA, China and Mexico. This cross-cultural approach has led her to develop a pragmatic and poetic approach to teaching Shamanic practices.

All proceeds from Maxine’s Shamanic work go towards the upkeep of a woodland sanctuary which she has placed in a Trust, so no one ever owns this small piece of the Earth again.

On Friday the 13th in April 2018, Art Bell passed away suddenly at the age of 72. While his cause of death is still unknown, it has been reported that he had a recent history of heart problems.  Art began his epic radio career in the 1970’s. And by the 90s, was in his prime as the riveting dramatic host of Coast to Coast, covering all things spooky and unexplained on the air to a widely syndicated audience. 
 
My well known co-host during my 1st two years on the air – Dannion Brinkley (Saved by the Light) – was a regular guest on Coast to Coast and good friend to Art Bell.  Today on the air, Dannion will join me on News for the Soul for a tribute show to honour the life and work of Art Bell.    

I will miss Art too, having been a huge fan and avid listener in the early years, spending many a late night working while tuning in to Ghost to Ghost on Coast to Coast (who could ever sleep after that!) and other Art classics – too many to list here.  And he inspired the paranormal side of my work over the years which evolved to ‘live on location ghost busting events’, many of which produced startling results.

Pathway teaching with Paul O’Halloran (Grey Elk) on the 1st Monday of the month at 11am Pacific time beginning January 7, 2018 – Based in Ireland, Pathway teaching is the creation of Paul O’Halloran and his wife Melanie O’Halloran-Gomes. Paul O’Halloran trained in shamanism with various teachers over the years including Zanemvula (Peter Von Maltitz) in South Africa who bestowed the name Igqirha on him. Igqirha means shamanic “healer” in Xhosa and this name comes originally from the San people. It is a person full of life energy. Following the Sacred Sundance ceremony with the Cree First Nation people in 2017 Paul was blessed with the name “Grey Elk” at the Sacred Tree of Life. Paul has also been called “shaman” for simplicity but strictly speaking the word “shaman” comes from Siberia and is not the shamanic lineage of Paul even though it is used in everyday speech.
