I was lent my father’s name as He was his to him
a man’s no man until he’s made his mark  
soon that road grows colder and boy does it get dark
But I think that I’ve found the place to start

Santa Fe was heaven but the stars hung by your nose
A dream’s no dream if it should seem so near
But I’ve never felt closer than I do when you’re here
So maybe things aren’t quite the way I’d feared

And when all is said and done
I would be my father’s son 
But you would be the one that I called home
Cuz I know there’s no better place to go

 
Maybe there’s some meaning in the things that we possess
Or maybe it’s in how we spend our time
But I find all I’m hoping for is moments by your side
And now the plans to just enjoy the ride

And with all these things I’ve done
There has never been a one
That’s made me want run away from here
But the thought of losing you
It just rips my heart in two
So there’s nothing left to do but tell you dear
That you’re the only thing that I’d call home
Cuz  I know there’s no better place to go
