A landmark 200th edition of The Selador Sessions drops this week with label boss Steve Parry taking control of proceedings. By means of celebration, this show simultaneously looks forward as we feature tracks from the label's forthcoming 10th Birthday EP and vinyl releases, whilst also doffing its cap back to a handful of Seladorian gems from the last 10 years!

South America beckons again as New Violence turn to the super talented Solarc for their 63rd release. The prolific producer doesn't mess around when it comes to releasing on heavyweight labels counting Glasgow Underground, Toolroom, 303Lovers, Yoshitoshi & UNDR THE RADR amongst his impressive tally. Now he delivers his Red Moon EP on New Violence supported by remixes from returning favourite Joe Red & rapidly rising German talent Ackermann.

First up we have the title track Red Moon. Polished arps and delicate pads welcome a heavyweight bassline that drives ever onwards continually building. Bubbling synths & reverb drenched pads drop in and out as we go headfirst into an almighty break a drop. On remix duties Joe Red makes his second appearance on New Violence and immediately creates a heavy, heads down groove. Perfectly balanced with some careful use of the originals synths and some additional menacing stabs of his own, Joe creates the perfect atmospheric groover. Next up is Illusion. A deep, melodic thumper blessed with soaring synths and a deliciously grooving bassline. A real gem. Taking over the remix is Germany's Ackermann. A huge talent who has already released on labels such as Second State, Get Physical, Kling Klong & Tenampa, a big future awaits. His remix centres around a pounding kick and deep atmosphere, adding his own twisted take on the originals melodies and creating a techno banger.

Solarc is the alias of South American DJ and producer Carlos Miguel Antelo, born in 2015 following the success of his previous incarnation as Southmen. The talented producer brings his innovative production skills to this two-parter, landing on Rebellion this June.

Described by Damian Lazarus as being “​pure fire​”, ​Solarc ​says that this EP ​“is the first of my new projects that is focused in a modern deep-tech way. Both tunes have the perfect blend of deep and groovy classic sounds combined with contemporary songwriting”

Dark Wings is most certainly that - a dark, grooving and rhythmic track, busy and bursting with an obliteration of spacey synths that will make you feel like you’re about to take off into orbit. On the flip side, ​Kissed By Fire takes the tempo down low. It’s the perfect balance of light and shade as it gently builds towards an elegant and ethereal breakdown.

Solarc ​began his foray into music back in 2005 under his Southmen ​moniker when he signed to Deepdish’s Yoshitoshi Recordings. Under that alias, he released on Azuli Records amongst others and released his first album ​A Fine Balance ​on Sony Latin America. His talent as a DJ saw him grace festivals across the globe, as well as holding down residencies at Pacha in Sao Paulo and We Love Sundays in Brazil. Under his new Solarc alias he’s released on some of the scenes biggest labels including Toolroom and VIVa Music.
