Odete works between the field of writing, music, performance and visual arts - her work is explicitly autobiographic, making clear the border between the personal and politics. She describes her music as a sensorial theory for a weary girlhood - a ghost warrior that becomes visible through mixing. Through transitioning. Failure, silence, brokenness and emptiness as the basis of a queer dramaturgy of track making. Her sets are something between anime soundtracks with lots of reverb, pitched voices narrating a tale of heartbreak, opera singing with no technique and the music of her friends.

Ariel Zetina is a Chicago based artist, focusing in music production, deejaying, and writing. Though her music can be considered techno, she takes inspiration from Chicago house, Belizean genres punta and brukdown, and the queer club scene worldwide. These influences can be heard on the 2019 EPs "Organism" on Majía, Shell on Head Charge, and the 2017 EP “Cyst” on Boukan Records; and on mixes for Rinse FM, Dummy, Truants, and NTS. Her ruthless, cross genre DJs sets have been heard worldwide. She is a resident at the legendary house club Smartbar, and on Discwoman’s roster. Up next: EP on Femme Culture, released on Feb 2020.

Following her breakout EP, SiS, Jasmine Infiniti returns with thirteen disruptive club tracks fit for the The Infernal Ballroom. On her meticulously-crafted debut LP, she conjures occult rave incantations with sub-tectonic bass and spectral, seductive harmonies. Audaciously championing R&B, vogue and hip-hop sounds, Jasmine Infiniti’s latest collection of techno-hybrid dance tunes is bound to be the new soundtrack of NYC’s queer underground nightlife. 

Where SiS was an ode to queer solidarity, community and sisterhood, BXTCH SLÄP is as much about personal myth-building as it is about claiming individual space as a queer person. 

BXTCH SLÄP is cunt, unflinching and uncompromising, but it also boasts surprising range—moving briskly between ethereal hardcore house (“HOTT”), the anxious pounding of dark electro (“SPOOKED”), and certifiable techno bangers (“YES, SIR”, “WELLFAIR”). Meanwhile album standout “<3” hovers just above 100 BPM, a defiant statement of sensuality, calmness, and euphoria that’s no less gripping for its dramatic deceleration. Closing number “SHONUFF” clocks in at ten and half minutes; not a second of this adrenaline-rush of an acid techno tune feels wasted. BXTCH SLÄP might be most appropriate for the club, played at dangerously high volumes, but this music certainly takes on a new life after hours, in the moments we spend between the parties, alone and full of desire. 

The Queen of Hell is back and her powers are stronger than ever.

Her musical productions, both brutal and pop, express a societal ideal of fluidity in line with different debates they animate across their city’s cultural sector. The aim is to discuss the invisibility of minorities and the various incidents provoked by the binary model.

 TAAHLIAH’s sets reveal the liberating potential within the exaggeratedly efficient genre of dance pop, in which the glossy packaging serves to politicise the subject matter.
