I've been to see Verdi's Requiem at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sydney Opera House and this performance was the best of the lot. Eric Owens does a phenomenal job with the bass solo. Delighted to have the recording available to listen to! Thank you!

The New York Philharmonic is joined by the New York Choral Artists (Joseph Flummerfelt, Director) for Giuseppe Verdi's Messa da Requiem.  The recording was made in January, 2015 and features an all-star quartet of soloists: Soprano Angela Meade; Mezzo-Soprano Lilli Paasikivi; Tenor Russell Thomas, and Bass-Baritone Eric Owens (the Philharmonic's 2015/16 Artist-in-Residence.) Music Director Alan Gilbert conducts. The broadcast host is Alec Baldwin.
