05 You See Me

A sister duo from Sydney Australia, Tess just finished school, is 17 now and Josie is 20 ! Josie is now studying musical theatre. Tess is producing her own pop songs and music videos with her Best friend Alex Chorley (on you tube). Those songs are arguably more "hip" or "cutting edge" and less mainstream than these. And Josie is writing Musical theatre songs and doing well on a local level at Uni. Their mum (Liz) wrote these songs for them after they auditioned for a kids pop group (and were successful) when they were just 5 and 8. There are many other songs,award winning. Their mum is a lyricist, manager and child and family counsellor who is now living on a farm in the country and churning out more songs as she morphs into a farm girl. Yee ha ! Lotsa inspiration there. This photo depicts them as 11 and 9 years old. But these recordings on display here were done when they were 14 and 11.....Can't seem to find their photo file on the computer. Please excuse the young photo, but they did start young, yes. Why not? Josie was discovered as a singer when she was just 4 by her school music teacher and he got her up to sing "Saltwater" at school assembly whilst he accompanied her on the guitar. HE discovered she could sing this song in class.....the rest is history....she got invited to sing at church and piano concerts, then her mum sort out broader opportunities for her. Tess also blossomed. When Josie was 9 she signed a contract with universal music to produce covers of top 40 songs for a special project with on of their producers; Nick. Tess was offered the same contract. Their mum was their manager, Lyricist and was herself a discovered Talent in Tamworth NSW (Australia's Nashville) . Her duo is called Toucanz Tree and is number one on Reverbnation for folk, though the recordings are just demos and need re-recording with an alternative artist. Toucanz Tree has disbanded and her new act is called Grizzly Grizzly. But, these days her mum just loves writing Lyrics ...There are only 5 family albums in her catalogue. More have been written, but yet to be produced. Yes it's the von trapp family singers....
