This tune is Nick Fife's first brass band composition. The instrumentation was meant to have tuba, but instead we decided to go with dueling bass trombones.  Nick ended up liking the tone color better anyway.  Enjoy!

Tigerland Bounce!

This piece is an arrangement of Mahler's Piano Quartet in A minor.  This is Nick Fife's second arrangement of this piece. Two years ago TBQ recorded his first arrangement.  The first arrangement was in the original key and presented too many technical difficulties to be a performable work.  This time around Nick cut out a good portion of the piece and put the whole work in a much more friendly key for brass.  Maestro Fife is still not satisfied with this version. The only thing he is going to change is adding back a section that makes a smoother transition.

Quintet No. 1 in Bb Minor, Mvmt. 1

TBQ is comprised of Luke Scallan (Trumpet), Joe Jennis (Trumpet), Nick Fife (Horn), Matt Breuer (Tenor Trombone), and Gabriel Roberson (Bass Trombone). The boys are currently spread across the country. Joe Jennis and Luke Scallan are pursuing their Master's Degrees in Trumpet Performance at UT Austin, Gabriel Roberson is working on his Master's in Bass Trombone Performance at Northwestern University, and Matt Breuer is attending the University of New Mexico as a Graduate Assistant in the Trombone Studio and Jazz Studies department, working towards his Master's in Trombone Performance. Nick Fife performs with the Rock River Philharmonic and Cleveland Philharmonic. He currently lives in Cleveland with his fiance. Even spread apart, the group continues to take time to remain active with recording and performing!
