Knowing since the age of 11 that arts was his niche DMV native “#NFYTL” ‬ (Not For You To Like), “#Like” for short began to secretly write songs while everyone would be sleeping. It wasn't until he graduated high school when he noticed that music was his passion. He began to write and record songs such as Alone, American Dream, and You Been Running (Interlude) from his headphones and iPhone. #NFYTL is a R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, Soul, & Alternative Artist. Blending these five genres, his lyrical skills, pain from death and heartbreak, he became able to put his life into his music. At the age of 10 #NFYTL lost his birth mother to lung cancer. He then went to live with his grandmother along with his younger brother and sister. At age 19 #Like went through a really hard breakup which sparked his determination for making it in the music industry. He started to let people listen to what he was creating. Not everyone liked what he was doing, but more loved it than those who disliked it. Which is where the name #NFYTL (Not For You To Like) came from. Originally #Like went by the stage name “Von Davey” and was going to tittle his first mixtape "Not For You To Like". Because of his homosexuality, he realized that because he was a homosexual black male and that no matter what he did, there will always be someone who didn't like his music. Making it known that he doesn’t care who dislikes his work and that he’s doing it for those who does like his music, he then changed his name from “Von Davey” to “#NFYTL”.
