It’s through Rich’s unique designs and creations that we learn the true meaning of emotional electronic music - giving back to the traditional clarity of the genres of House and Techno by delicately pushing the long-established boundaries. A stimulating and driving persona and output that is recognised as one of Australia’s top electronic music exports.

Rich’s rise in popularity is partly due to the consistency of his monthly “Resolutions” podcast, which has regularly topped the weekly charts on friskyRadio.com

Since 2007, Rich’s contribution to his local electronic dance music community has been positively enormous. Amongst regular spots at top festival institutions such as Stereosonic, Future Music Festival (Cocoon Heroes), Manifest and Elements, Rich Curtis ran the self-created underground club night “Ulterior,” which debuted many international acts in Brisbane and Gold Coast nightclubs up until 2014 where he decided the studio deserved his full attention ongoing.

Rich continues to expand onto the global dance music scene, including annual tours of Latin America, where he feels most at home with his sound.

Rich provides 3 different yet amazing tracks showing his true diversity.

Fresh names to Visionquest, but certainly not new to the game; More Than Material is the promising new project between two bonafide French selector statesmen who collectively boast decades of dancefloor and studio science: Jedsa Soundorom and Gauthier DM. Launching their new alias earlier this year on Zingiber Audio, their signature has been tangible from the off; deep weighted grooves, warm dynamics and total immersion.

'Intimate' says it all; realising its title's close connotations with a dubby, physical groove and a rollcall of soul rolling elements, it's the sound of a crowd locking in en- mass. Low ceiling, heads down, lights low. 'Godsa' follows with similar moody momentum and another hypnotic weave. This time over much more of a stately techno noir soundscape as its persistent jack is laced with subtle acid details. Next, we hit 'Doctor High', an ageless deep house groove peppered with nuances of uplift, trippiness and a drum arrangement that taps deep into the foundations. Once again, the track relives its title's implications.

Finally, we sign out with a precision revision from Fuse resident Archie Hamilton who refixes the pace and density of 'Doctor High' with more of a driving peaktime aesthetic that remains fully respectful of the original's weight and clarity. More Than Material by nature, spirit and name.

Since its inception in 2009, Andrew Rasse aka Butane and Sean O’Neal aka Someone Else’s Little Helpers imprint has remained a must-visit label for DJs within the house and techno world. Offering releases packed full of both stand-alone productions and groove-heavy DJ tools, the conceptual imprint now turns to one of its founders partnered alongside one of its core artists in young Italian talent Riko Forinson to deliver an eight track package that digs deeper than your usual Little Helpers EP, offering pockets of melody and striking sound design whilst ultimately remaining functional and fitting the core label brief – to work for DJs.

Butane and Forinson’s opening pair of tracks set the tone immediately, opting for dreamy, rich chords to partner rolling percussive grooves as opposed to the stripped back aesthetics many have come to know them for, before floating into the 303 driven bassline of Little Helper 337-3, or the hypnotic vocal hooks and growling bass tones of 337-4 as the pair firmly switch things up.

Little Helper 337-5 offers an instant injection of energy as the duo pair swirling synth lines amongst crisp drum licks and resonant vocal chants and murmurs, whilst 337-6 and 337-7 build on this shift in liveliness with well worked percussion arrangements, stuttered voxs and further deep yet driving synth work. Last up, Rasse and Forinson strip things back offering an expertly positioned slice of soul, closing out the package in style with a medley of metallic and organic percussion licks, rich female vocals and snaking grooves throughout – it’s Little Helpers but probably as you’ve never heard before, offering an excellent example of soulful yet dynamic modern house music.

Following his beautiful ‘Detroit Sunrise’ EP on the label last year, the inimitable Sascha Dive returns to Bondage Music once again for another deep frequency encounter.

The safe word is bass as Sascha picks up where he left us with two ‘Dub Chronicles’ tracks on the previous release. Now comes the third; a lavish, unhurried exploration ‘Dub Chronicles 3’ lights the fire with hazy, hypnotic charm and a spoken word well known to those familiar with the foundations.

What follows is a trip that grows in intensity and emotions. ‘Cornerstone’ is a beautiful 11pm track; fleet of foot in the kick department and arms aloft in the vibe department. Total elevation. ‘Ancient Tribal Drums’, meanwhile, takes us much deeper into the night. That rolling conga line will tie you up just the way Bondage likes it while the dubby echoes provide sense-tingling relief… Before the finale takes us to even dreamier heights. Living up to its name, ‘It’s A Groove’ brings the elements of the whole EP together; the dubby hypnosis, the warm, driving beats and that unique sense that you’re not quite tied into any reality while Sascha plays.
