Ngembalkii | Oroko Radio March 30

Born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), NgembaLKii is a visual artist and DJ based in Montreal that fluidly handles sound, installation art, performance, and sculpture. She manufactures reflections on the body, identity, and self-representation, all at once. While NgembaLKii has always had an ear for Congolese traditional African sounds, Jazz, Hip Hop and R&B she currently focuses on underground afro-diasporic electronic, techno and house music which pays tribute to her African root of the past and present. 

In 2016, along with her artistic practice, she gave birth to the “Book and Brunch” book club, which mainly focuses on African diaspora authors and scholars. A platform that is currently active between Montreal, Paris, and Guadeloupe.
