  A Chicago-native himself, Wodie was inspired to create the track by the current events unraveling across the globe, specifically those within his home city. An individual reflection piece, “Cold City'' touches upon Wodie’s interpretation of Chicago’s tough heart. Speaking from firsthand experiences, Chicago has proven itself away from an admirable city of kind hearts, to that of the selfishly dangerous.  
  Produced by OG Mic Will, the sonics of “Cold City” contradict the “do or die” mentality implied by Wodie, instead boasting a sequence of harmonic chimes and 808s. Through opposition, the beauty of the melody reinforces the message at hand, for it does not need to be this way and Chicago needs to do better.  
  Visually, “Cold City” can be taken quite literally. Artist TomatronWYO did just that while designing the artwork for Wodie’s single. An arctic tundra surrounding the Chicago skyline is an impressive depiction of the message behind the lyrics.
