My entry for Day 2 of this month's challenge! Today's prompt was Lavos from Chrono Trigger's sound effect. I went for something weird and extended and a little painful and I like it!!

Eldritch Beast Awakens

This one is based on the Lavos sfx sample from Chrono trigger

As a complete song I am not pleased and this one will probably go quite soon from my page. :) I think that I could've changed the melody to be more interesting and also have some more fun drums and instruments in there aswell, but oh well. It can't all be good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Magma Beat

The primary antagonist of Chrono Trigger, Lavos, is one of the most iconic video game bosses for two reasons: 1) it's an absolutely terrifying concept and 2) it's bloodcurdling scream is utilized so well to tell the story of Chrono Trigger. 

While we aren't necessarily encouraged to sample these sounds... BUT I just so happened to have a Chrono Trigger Soundfont on hand that just so happened to have Lavos1 included... smoke em if you got em!

Named after the terror-inducing game over screen, The Future Refused to Change.

Today the prompt and song was based on Lakito's start signal from Mario kart!


I started by choosing a scale since the tip of the day was to choose one that you hadn't used or played that much.
I chose the weird and seldom used Locrian scale.
I did as I usually do when using LSDJ (a gameboy music software emulator thingy)I start by making the song on similar sounds I got access to in the GB emulator.
Making a lead, an Arp and a bassline following the restrictions of Locrian.
After that what's left is the tedious work of copying from your daw to lsdj.
I also decided on choosing a very simple drum comp that makes the scale and lead easier to listen to.

The sfx today was Link's Death song(-ish sound thingy)from Ocarina of Time.

So what's more fitting than a dark little track with choir?

I didn't have much time for this one, so i improvised a bit around the idea i got from today's prompt.
