What is up, you beautiful people?! It has been a while, but I am back and I'm here to release my biggest project yet! "THE KING IS COOKIN'", a compilation of all of the songs I've contributed to SiIvaGunner's "King For Another Day Tournament", as well as a few demos and W.I.P.s that were made for this project as well. 

Throughout listening, I advise you to peep each track's description, for they are all filled with commentary and fun facts about each track's creation, as well as info about the characters that were represented, just so you could get a glimpse of my activity and motives. If not, then just listening is good. I just hope you all will be pleased regardless.

Sanctuary - The Ninth Wonder (Demo)

Characters Represented: Daft Punk (ft. Pharrell) & Dr. Robotnik

So I'm dying to talk about this piece in particular. Little known fact about this piece: I JUST noticed iteachvader as an artist 3 days prior to even planning to make this piece. Alongside "Objection Funk", "Robotnik Rock" was the song that got me permanently hooked to his material. I didn't know that he and SiIva had a sort of "history" beforehand, nor did I know he had a problem with SiIva to begin with, but I went ahead and went with the submission anyway, which I'm glad I did.

I didn't want to just do a mashup of "Robotnik Rock" and "Robot Rock", so I decided to add Pharrell's vocals from N.E.R.D.'s "Rock Star", and the rest was history. A massive highlight was when Robotnik was talking about "doing anything" and I used Pharrell's vocals to make the whole sequence golden: 24K golden. SiIvaGunner backroom and YTP legend Omknee acknoledged it (as it was his favorite part), alongside praising the arrangement as a whole and deeming it his favorite rip of the tournament, which I'm honored to be a favorite of someone's, let alone someone from the backroom.

Also, iteachvader himself commented on the video and commended my performance, later complimenting me when I responded to him, which made me very excited in general. To this day, the arrangement is my second most popular rip of all time, right behind "Fall Breaks", which I am very proud of. This was a piece that I will never forget, making, listening, and feeling the love from.

Robotnik Rock Star

Character Represented: Adam Levine

Before "Fall Breaks", this was actually the final piece I made for King for Another Day, right before the deadline. I made this because certain fans of the SiIva community, as well as members of the team, questioned why there wasn't any Kara's Flowers arrangements. I wanted to be the Captain Save-a-Ho of the team and deliver on it. 🤣 This was the result, the first Kara's arrangement, followed by MtH's Kara's gem of a piece of "Control Myself".

Soap Disco

Character Represented: Adam Levine

This was the first ever song I've claimed for newcomer Adam Levine. I was originally going to use vocals for the project, but I feared that because of repeated listens to the radio version of "Animals", I wouldn't get the howl part solo, by itself without interruption form any other lyric of its song. Because of this, I decided to just trade vocals with lead quare synths instead. Come to find out there was an "Animals" vocal where the howl was, in fact, by itself, but it was too late to figure out since I did so when KFAD 2 ended.

Counting dual rips, Adam Levine happens to be my most represented character on King for Another Day (4 submissions), followed by Professor K and Mr. Krabs (3 submissions each). Unfinshed/recycled pieces included "Wake Up Call" and "Harder to Breathe", the latter of which was already claimed.

Animals / One More Night

Characters Represented: DJ Professor K & Dr. Robotnik

I was one of the people that the great Hinchy called upon to be a part of. This piece contained predominatly "Everybody Jump Around" samples with a bit of "Let Mom Sleep" samples. Like "Fall Breaks", I featured the same Incineroar clip, followed by a Beastie Boys' "Body Movin'" sample, but a different lyric. 

Funnily enough, this also included a sample from the song "Time Machine" by Ingrid Michaelson. This was solely because of a job I worked at at the time that had a repeated playlist, and this was a song that used to play daily to the point where it got stuck in my head. For the good part, it had a good, catchy brass part that I used as the sample.

Alongside Daft Punk ft. Pharrell, both DJ Professor K and Dr. Robotnik are the only characters I've used more than once for dual rips exclusively.

Big Beat Radio (Roc's Part)

Characters Representing: DJ Professor K & Mariya Takeuchi

This song contained Jet Set Radio/Sonic Rush samples from "Oldies But Happies", "The Concept of Love", "Yappie Feet", "Like It Like This Like That", "Shape Da Future" and "Let Mom Sleep". The main sample is, of course, dervied from Kurtis Blow's "The Breaks". Other samples used came from samples from a single song file, basically from what real-life DJs use to use numerous samples to scratch from.

I also hid two samples in this piece that no one noticed. An Incineroar voice clip of him exclaiming, "Yeah!", from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and a Beastie Boys ad lib from "Body Movin'", the song I sampled to make "The Sound" for King For A Day. These two hints let you know exactly who made this song. But there has been speculation that, during the choruses, I used the Phoenix Wright gavel sound, when in fact, it was just a regular vocal chant. Sorry to disappoint you guys who thought otherwise. 😂

I was one of the ones who volunteered to make a dual rip of the finalists. Little did I know, Mariya's "September" seemed to be sort of a wild card, since everyone was pleasantly surprised to hear it. As of now, "Fall Breaks" happens to be my best rip of all time as a SiIvaGunner ripper, garnishing over 110,000 views, a feat I am absolutely proud of. This is also a rip I'm proud to announce I applied my trademark DJ Hero-style producing, which I wanted to do for at least one of the pieces I submitted. Being this was kind of a roll call for the contest, I'm glad I ended it with a great note.

Fall Breaks

Characters Representing: DJ Professor K & Adam Levine

This song featured beats from two songs: Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock's "It Takes Two" and Logic's "Warm It Up", while the hats were from "Shooting Stars" from the Bag Raiders. The vocals of Maroon 5's songs include "Don't Wanna Know", "Payphone", "This Love", "Sugar", "Animals", "Maps", and "Moves Like Jagger". The Jet Set Radio samples that were used were derived from "That's Enough", "Everybody Jump Around", "Let Mom Sleep", and "Rock It On". The beginning sample was from "Shape Da Future", while the counting sample was after the second hook was derived from Public Enemy's "Shut Em Down".

This was originally going to be Adam Levine's lead in the battle, while DJ Professor K was going to be the opponent, thus the reason why the song is called what it currently is ("Jet Set Vervine"). If it were reversed beforehand, it would've been called "Jetterset Symphony (ft. Adam Levine)", but the team did indeed want the roles reversed because of Professor K being in the top 4 at the time. Because of necessary simplicity, I decided to keep its name.

For a character fact standpoint, DJ Professor K happens to be the only veteran that I've submitted anything for. I had plans for Nintendo Power, Thanos and Men in Black, as well as hopes of pieces for Weird Al and King Dedede, but never got to any other veteran. 

Unfinished/recycled rips for Professor K include "8 Ball Scratchin" (a remix of Super Monkey Ball 2's "Billiards Theme"), and two more that will be showcased later on in this album.
