I know what you mean brother. Soundcloud back a few years was the shit as your stuff would actually get recognized and it felt amazing back then as the community worked together to make good shit in collabs and albums. Just like you, I've lost the capability to go on as well as I barely post at all these days. Soundcloud is dead my man and its losing people by the minute homie. I would love to see you continue making and its the same when I look at myself, but it feels like its lost and gone. I respect your decision to whatever you go but I feel the best thing to do is to either go to youtube or drop it at this point

I mainly agree with Icy. Soundcloud used to be a really positive space where everyone's hard work went appreciated, but it just sucks when minimalistic effort gets the highest praise. I know exactly how you feel. I've gone through that multiple times, on Soundcloud and off. My profile's been on a steady decline since Kendrick Lamuffet got taken down, so I really sympathize with ya. That being said, I think you should do whatever you think is right for you. If Soundcloud is getting in the way of real life, don't let it stop you from doing better things with your time and amazing mashups. I've been a big fan of you since you put Wake Me Up and Music Sound Better With You together, so if you were to keep up your incredible work, I would be very happy, but I would still have respect if you decided to finish on a high note with Nintendolution (which I can't wait for!). Whatever decision you make is the right one.

As i'm not immersed in this community, i cant really offer the best advice. But whatever you do, please keep us in the loop so we can follow where you choose to go next.

For six whole years, this never happened...

Hey you guys. I've used one of my emotional rips "Saying Goodbye From Time" in this important announcement because I know if I recorded it by voice, it would be an hour-long recording just to prove a point.

I'm gonna be completely honest and say that I'm going absolutely nowhere with the material I post for you guys' entertainment. Very lately, my posts have not been very successful  ever since my 2-3 month absence. The most popular mashup has to be "The Song that We Beat to Death in Twoson", which is one of my favorite pieces I've done as of late, but that's it; not even that very mix has passed 2.5k yet, or caught the attention of more people than my follower count.

I'm grateful for the love that the few of you guys have been giving me, but it seems like it's just not enough, for not counting my Beyonce/Adventure Time "shitpost", NOTHING has even hit 2k plays, which is meaning one of two things: either my fans are busy or my material nowadays is just not worth listening to.

Even worse. I gained 14 followers in this month month alone. In a whole week, 11 OF THOSE 14 FOLLOWERS HAVE WENT AND GONE. It's bad enough that even when I post content daily now since I'm no longer busy and temporarily out of a job so I can work on my albums and such, I'M STILL IN THE 1800 FOLLOWER ZONE FROM NOVEMBER. And while I put so much dedication to what I do and what I love to do, other artist (no names or disrespect) that use no effort or more memes than mashups get the followers, get the recognition, get the love. There are other artists who take their stuff seriously including me, but minimal or no percentage of acclaim goes to them, but to the memes and shitposts full of WANOs, All Stars, Shooting Stars, and Wow Wows, oh yeah! Give them all medals!

I'm not bitching or implying that I need more recognition, for that would be pigheaded and selfish, two things I am not. I'm implying that I might not have it in me anymore if I literally go nowhere. Nowadays there are more followers leaving me than notifications popping up in my feed in a single day.

A lot of things are happening for me. I'm gonna turn 21 in a couple of weeks. I'm gonna be releasing a very personal album that I'm working on that my fans will hopefully like, it will be 5 years that I've been doing mashups when October hits. My Nintendolution will most likely be DONE before the year ends! But... what if that's not good enough? What if memes are the new mashups? I'm honestly not a memeful artist; I make my work personal and serious over 80% of the time. And it's just not good enough apparently at this moment of time.

I get that a big part of doing mashups is that only the artist, have the right to release your material, it's your right to know that your material is great if you believe it is. As corny as it may sound, it couldn't be more right. But another big part is the audience. And that's the most important thing to me, making people happy, being well-known for my craft for my art. Not having to share my material on Reddit to be a success. That's where songs like "Ashley's fresher than you." and "Skull Girls' For Real" come in. But lately I've been getting by, and that might get me to the decision that I might not make it to my fifth year.

I'm not asking for pity, sympathy or more followers and reposts and all that desperado needy shit. I just need some guidance. Should I keep on mashing, sell my everything that I've mashed and turn it into memes, or just quit altogether. I need... guidance. Tell me what you guys think I should do. Please this is serious...

Sorry if I broke your train of thought or your eyesight reading this long-ass announcement, but this is seriousness coming from it and I just want you all to know that I will always love my followers and mashup artist comrades, for they listen, love, and even critique my stuff to the fullest and I couldn't be more happier. About time I upload another mashup in a month, right?

So, this mashup is just... something on how I've been feeling lately. And no, I'm not committing suicide or having suicidal thoughts. But I'm having this feeling that since I'm busy and such with my job and being that I'm working on beginning a new YouTube project within a few months, I just don't feel like doing this anymore, and on certain occasions I've thought on this.

Being that the last thing I've done was Nintendolution, an album I worked so damn hard to make (over 2 years), and seeing all the support from other mashup artists and listeners make me happy, I sometimes feel that since it went NOWHERE near my expectations when it came to playtime and recognition, even with the great DJ Cutman's support, mastery, comments, love, AND repost. Yet... other than those things, nothing further came out of it.

Another LP I was working on shortly after its release was in the works. I'm only on the second of many tracks. And it had nothing to do with Nintendolution's lack of success, but it was just lost of interest, something that I've feared for about two years.

Sometimes I feel like I'm not enough in the mashup community, and I'm not saying any of this for pity, nor am I bitching, or attempting to, just to get recognition. I say nothing but real shit.  I just don't think this is my hobby-to-be anymore. 

I'm not necessarily saying that I'm done. If anything, I'd semi-retire, coming back and forth without saying a word about it. I'm just wondering if I could go on. I need advice, not only from my friends, but my listeners and my followers. What should I do? Please let me know.

This is a recent project by the name of "Beastieface", an album where I take hit songs performed by the Beastie Boys and mash them together with the entirety of Twenty One Pilots' album "Blurryface". 

This is in celebration of the original "Blurryface" album's third birthday/anniversary, as well as a memorial of late Beastie Boy, Adam "MCA" Yauch, who died over a week ago, six years ago. 

Both groups have been influential to me in a sense when it comes to my overall taste and interest in music, and this is an album, despite working on it for only five days, one of my most hard-worked mashup projects I've ever done. So I'm dying to talk about this piece in particular. Little known fact about this piece: I JUST noticed iteachvader as an artist 3 days prior to even planning to make this piece. Alongside "Objection Funk", "Robotnik Rock" was the song that got me permanently hooked to his material. I didn't know that he and SiIva had a sort of "history" beforehand, nor did I know he had a problem with SiIva to begin with, but I went ahead and went with the submission anyway, which I'm glad I did.

I didn't want to just do a mashup of "Robotnik Rock" and "Robot Rock", so I decided to add Pharrell's vocals from N.E.R.D.'s "Rock Star", and the rest was history. A massive highlight was when Robotnik was talking about "doing anything" and I used Pharrell's vocals to make the whole sequence golden: 24K golden. SiIvaGunner backroom and YTP legend Omknee acknoledged it (as it was his favorite part), alongside praising the arrangement as a whole and deeming it his favorite rip of the tournament, which I'm honored to be a favorite of someone's, let alone someone from the backroom.

Also, iteachvader himself commented on the video and commended my performance, later complimenting me when I responded to him, which made me very excited in general. To this day, the arrangement is my second most popular rip of all time, right behind "Fall Breaks", which I am very proud of. This was a piece that I will never forget, making, listening, and feeling the love from.

So, I've been hooked on Objection Funk recently and some of you know that I noticed iteachvader right around the time the King For Another Day project came to light, so I wanted to make a parody of my favorite ITV piece, consisting of 7 Smash characters' voice clips that are taunts that beckon the opponent, most notably, "come at me", and "come on", hence the name.

These characters are Chrom, Falco, Fox, Terry, Lucina, Captain Falcon & Sonic. Three share the quote, "come at me", four share, "come on", and three others' beckoning quotes used in these are unique from one another. Being that they were taunts that beckon, they seemed to fit right in perfectly with the premise. The additives of "fire" (shared with Fox and Falco) were just to fit with the rhythm. And yes, this backing track is the original one made by @iteachvader himself.

This is a kind of preview of things to come in a couple of months, God willing. I'm brainstorming a project by the name of "Smash Mouths", which is a project using nothing but Smash characters' voice and sound effect samples. You can say that this is more of a test run on my sampling skills, and soon I will be attempting the use of vocoding to make the characters sound more like instruments.
