Luv Shack Records is kicking off the year 2015 with release # 15 - another blissful split EP, this time featuring Hard Ton and Daso, as well as Nick Anthony Simoncino on remix duties.

German producer Daso, who has originally emerged from the german techno scene, delivers two stunningly atmospheric pieces of modern disco on the flip.

First there's "I Seek", a dense and ever evolving synth driven disco track, with strong references to 80's pop and italo, whilst easily maintaining an original and modern feel.

Italian house music lovers Mauro and Massimo aka Hard Ton started off with two releases on Dissident in 2009, and have since then become the go-to production team for authentic acid driven vocal house with a classic touch.

Their first track on the EP ,"You Made The World Go Round", is a destinctly dubby slice of vocal house, complete with sultry stabs, piano and a catchy synth bassline.

"Keep It Closer", the second Hard Ton production, is a densely intstrumented house track with an array of chord stabs, hovering strings and a powerful bassline - tied together by Massimos intimate vocals.

Nick Anthony Simoncino tackles "Keep It Closer" to a darker place, tightly embedding the sparse vocals in a carpet of analogue strings, pads and bells - all driven by a percussion heavy drum machine beat.

"Your Room" takes a slightly moodier approach, but still sounds very melodic and uplifting throughout its 8 minutes of detailed synthesizer arrangements.

Daso - I Seek - LUV015

Finally, you might think, and right on time for the open-air season. Now, two years after „Syvsover“, the Berlin-based Dane, Jesper Ryom, is ready with his latest release „The Two Of Us“ – providing us with the perfect soundtrack for the hot days and the warm nights. Radiating euphoria with each bassline and elegantly bridging house and pop, these four tracks will both make you break out in sweat and put a smile upon your face.
Tied together with a hypnotically energetic feel, each track is a journey into the timeless depths of Jesper Ryom’s stylistically confident sounds. And while layers of intricate atmosphere continuously is added on to each beat, Ryom doesn’t forget the floor for a single second. The waiting has finally paid off and these four tunes are sure to enrichen the summer vibe, whether spent partying or basking by a lake.

1. The Two Of Us
Title track and opener "The Two Of Us" perfectly demonstrates Jesper Ryom's penchant for layered sampling combined with modern elements, as the synth bassline and direct groove of the drums provide the backdrop for this funky yet subtly melancholic track.


2. Trivia
"Trivia" confidently ups the energy level and directly targets the floor. With reverberating brass samples, unapologetic arpeggios and dusty vocals, its simple message is one of movement and smiles.


3. Ada
Vocal-driven "Ada" is decidedly melodic and contemplative while still balancing these qualities with a consistent groove. While the lyrically enigmatic vocal sample drives the verse, the chorus is dominated by both melancholic 80s chords and an arpeggiated lead.

4. Superluminal
The funky guitar, subdued percussion and pulsating beat of "Superluminal" takes you by the hand and pulls you onto the dance floor. As the grooving piano is slowly unveiled amidst 707 claps and tambourine hits there is no doubt about the potential of this tune.

Exploited’s semi-regular “mini compilation” series continues, with Shir Khan collecting together a highly eclectic quintet of new cuts from the label featuring Nathan Ball & SevenDoors, Radiophobia, Kraak & Smaak, Athlete Whippet and Aklay.

SevenDoors is a producer and DJ from the deep within the depths of the ocean from the abyss where music consist of tonal strings. He calls his style ‘Sound of the Whales’. Sometimes it's dark, sometimes punchy, emotional or seductive. 'Right Place' is a track which was originally written by Nathan Ball and now has been transported to the dancefloor by SevenDoors. The track was premiered in his BBC Afterhours Mix for Pete Tong and finally sees the day of the light. 

2. Radiophobia - If You Ever Change Your Mind

Defined by their unique, experimental sound rather than an excessive fear of radiation, the affliction for which they are named, Radiophobia released their debut release ’Can’t Stop Believing’ on Exploited in late 2015. Inspired by a variety of genres, from minimalist techno to retro acoustic and 70s inspired vocals, the secret project’s offering ’If You Ever Changed Your Mind' is a catchy, melancholic, psychedelic dance tune. 

3. Kraak & Smaak - Hendo

The Hendo track came about after a long period of working on last year’s Juicy Fruit album material. As is often the case, creative juices flow slowly for a while, but then, all of a sudden, there is that spark again. With the upcoming Ibiza season in mind this track rolled out quite quickly, an autonomous club tune that will be available just in time for Summer dj sets all over the globe. What does it sound like? Think the quirky Scandinavian disco sound meets Kraak & Smaak. A staple track for everyone's record bag this Summer.

4. Athlete Whippet - 3am

Athlete Whippet is disks & dance duo formed of Squareglass co-founders Aviram Barath and Robin Paul Braum. Since their debut in September 2016 the Peckhamer’s hazy sun-kissed House found love by DJs worldwide including Scuba, Bicep, Laurent Garnier, Rob da Bank and Tom Ravenscroft as well as support by BBC1 & 6 and XLR8R, Resident Advisor, DJ Mag, Delicieuse Musique and Thump. With a good hand for remixes, the duos releases have come with reworks including Dekmantel’s Awanto 3, Lobster Theremin’s Ross From Friends, Brownswood’s Simbad and Horse Meat Disco founder Severino. A quick start to 2017 has already seen the Whippets release two singles and curate one of the main stages for Peckham Rye Music Festival which they will be sharing with Teki Latex and Ian Pooley.

5. Aklay - Return Order 

There is not much known about Aklay - besides he is living in Berlin studying music production and doing some part time work at a label management company. Originally from the land of Nottingham in the UK. Star Wars and Man United fan. 1 half of the record label CIRCA Records (currently under refurbishment).
