Wilson.solidarity joins the Magician On Duty Journey Series with an intimate new episode

Magician On Duty is proud to present the latest chapter in its acclaimed Journey Series — a deeply emotional and culturally rich set by wilson.solidarity, the German DJ and producer with Bengali roots, and a key member of Berlin’s Rebellion der Träumer collective.

Known for his unique blend of melodic and oriental techno, Wilson.solidarity crafts a sound that bridges continents and emotions — music that moves forward while keeping one foot anchored in his Indian heritage. His sets carry a distinct narrative quality, weaving rhythm and melody into stories of identity, connection, and transformation.

This special Journey Series episode, Wilson describes, is “about love — being abandoned, and eventually finding something beautiful and new again.” The set unfolds like a diary of the last few years of his life, featuring both German and English love tracks that channel personal emotion through musical storytelling. It’s an introspective voyage that captures both heartbreak and renewal, all underpinned by the warmth of his signature mid-tempo groove.

A familiar presence across the European underground circuit, Wilson.solidarity has performed at festivals and venues such as Wonderland Festival, SKALAR Festival, Hoppocalypse at Renate (Berlin), and Aktion gegen Rassismus — as well as appearances across Sri Lanka and Indonesia, reflecting his truly global artistic spirit.

With this Journey Series episode, Wilson.solidarity invites listeners to travel through the many shades of love — from loss to rediscovery — through the universal language of sound.

Als Mitglied der Easy Tiger Crew und Mitgründerin von Vertigo hat sie einen bewegten Festivalsommer hinter sich. After a long flight over the Malay Peninsula and the Gulf of Thailand, Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the witch apprentice) finally saw their destination on the horizon: the splendid island of Ko Phangan, of which they had heard so many stories from Lalita (the nymph who is the protectress of the future mother tree of the witch’s forest). 
First the girls made a tour around the coastline under a sky-blue sky, looking in awe at the pristine sandy beaches and dense mangrove forests. After that, the witches flew inland as they sensed that their destination was somewhere in the lush green hills. The girls gently touched down near a rice paddy, on the edge of a dense forest. This island was every bit as beautiful as Lalita had described. As nobody was waiting for them, the witches decided to walk into the forest. They knew they would reach their destination by simply following their deeper instinct. The forest was absolutely amazing, with giant tamarind trees and lush elephant ear plants everywhere, while birds (like the myna, drongo and coucal) were singing enchanting songs from everywhere. After a while, the witches saw an old temple in the distance. When they were around 200 yards from their destination, a torrential downpour suddenly started seemingly out of nowhere. The warm rain drops were actually really pleasant, and Hekske and Falke kept on strolling in an unhurried fashion. A few minutes later they arrived at the temple, by which time they were already soaked to the bone. They received a warm welcome by Kanchana, a young witch who was waiting for them. Kanchana started to chuckle when she saw the dripping wet witches, and showed her guests the temple pond. As they were already wet anyway, the girls decided to slip out of their long white dresses and waded into the clear water. It was the first time they were taking a bath in the middle of a rain shower, and this was a surprisingly pleasant feeling. They even could see thousands of water drops jumping up a few centimeters whenever a raindrop hit the water surface. Apart from this visual spectacle, the sound of the rain was also incredibly soothing.
Kanchana told her guests that she had sensed the presence of a naga since that morning. She explained that nagas are holy snakes which control the water and are protectors of fertility and life. So she was not surprised that the rain had suddenly started just before Hekske and Falke arrived at the temple. Just at that moment, something strange happened. The rain stopped abruptly and at the same time all the birds stopped singing. There was suddenly complete silence, apart from a soft whispering sound of the wind. At that very moment, the 3 witches saw a snake lazily move towards the edge of the pond before effortlessly slithering over the water surface. It was clear that this was no ordinary snake. This was obviously a naga, who was probing the visitors of her realm. Obviously, the snake was in a relaxed mood and she even curled around Falke’s arm. It was already known that Falke was a natural dragon tamer, but apparently she’s also a natural snake charmer. She’s even able to speak sweet words to the curious snake, despite having never learned snake language. The naga stayed with Falke for over an hour, curling around her body all the time with cautious yet playful movements. 
It was only at dusk time that the snake had decided that it was time to go. Falke gave one last kiss on the nose of the naga, after which he slithered back into the lush green forest. 
Obviously, also for the witches it was time to get out of the water and get ready for an epic full moon night filled with mystic ceremonies and ecstatic dancing …

Witchtape #199 | Guest Witch : Anna Panilli

Last month I had the privilege of attending a small gathering a couple hours north of Cape Town in one of the most serene areas of the country, Citrusdal. The event took place on the Waterfall Farm; a venue I've attended before, but was recently taken over by a group of truly magical humans with a vision very similar to mine - building a space that fosters human creativity and expression whilst deeply caring for this magnificent land that we are so fortunate to call our home. ⛰️

The focus of the weekend wasn't just to dance, but to come together and take full advantage of what the land has to offer - slow mornings with yoga and breath work, followed by an afternoon relaxing at the massive waterfalls; with music only starting in the evening. Before I played we had a couple hours of acoustic performances and living singing till I took over just after 8pm. So this set is meant to bridge the gap between a live artist and the night of electronic music, with the inimitable @natasamusic playing after me. 🔥

As my first set in SA (outside of AfrikaBurn) for the year I thoroughly enjoyed bringing a ton of fresh music and having a crowd in front of me filled with mates - ahhh - this was special! Really happy with how this set turned out - I've had it on repeat for the last couple weeks 😄 Thanks again to @gurt_music for the invite and having me a part of this special gathering. Cannot wait to see how this concept and this venue evolves! 💃

Living The Good Life @ Waterfall Farm, Citrusdal [11 Oct 2025] <downtempo>

Finally the re-recording of my Mystic Creatures Festival set! :) it was a super nice experience to open the Spirit Space on thursday. Starting still in the warmth of the day, dancing into a beautiful sunset at the end of my set <3 soundwise something new for me - I didn't want to play "classic" downtempo and was thinking of something more trancy, dreamy, but with enough drive to make you dance and start smoothly into the festival :) enjoy listening to the recording and thanks to all the producers for your music!

Heute ist die liebe GERDA. mit einem Podcast bei uns zu Gast. In Berlin geboren und aufgewachsen, kam sie schon früh mit elektronischer Musik in Berührung. Am wohlsten fühlt sie sich mit groovigem Downtempo, bouncy Midtempo und verträumtem Deep House. So steht auch dieses Set ganz im Zeichen des Fluffs. Schöne Chords und Melodien lassen den Geist abschweifen und die Seele baumeln, genau so begegnen wir einem grauen Novembertag doch am liebsten.

KataHaifisch Podcast 453 - GERDA.

Every music lover has one or more places and clubs they hold close to their heart. Sometimes that place represents intense experiences on the dance floor and sometimes it's because of the amazing people you can meet there and the connections you made.

After countless nights of dancing, feeling and healing I got the opportunity to play on the same grounds that taught me to love emotional and slow musical journeys. Don't get me wrong. I love me some bouncy energetic tunes to party the nights away. But sometimes we need more than that. Sometimes we need music that takes you somewhere you didn't know you had to go. Sometimes we need music that lingers, challenges and takes you from a sensory experience into a state of feeling (In German "Fühlen statt Spüren") 

"Accidental Family" is not just the name of a random party. It's the spirit of this community that shares a common passion for music and expression. It's little nod towards the fact that despite our differences we are united in a willingness to unite through music and dance - to create a space in which we can all thrive. And that in the end is community.

And I am happy to be a little part of this community. 
The Set I played on the 1.11.25 - the night of my 40th Birthday - is my emotional gift to this family that might be accidental, but never an accident. That was such a wonderful night!
