Born in Paris and raised in Los Angeles, Nic Shake acquired a sophisticated taste palette for the world of Arts: from entertainment and acting to producing music. Raised in a melting pot of different cultures through his mixed Asian and European parentage, Nic Shake was endowed with a rare exposure to the world of music through his artistic family upbringing. It was through these great windows of opportunity did he amass a cultural perspective that held no bars.

Nic’s passion for the Arts began during his education at Beverly Hills High School where he was given the opportunity to hone his talent for acting from the age of 14. Nic continued his further education at The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute of Los Angeles from 2000 to 2005.

Together with his twin brother, Amaro Shake, the dynamic duo creatively collaborated on a series of mini films that garnered significant recognition in the American Film Festival circuit. After continuing a 5-year career in producing and directing in the city of Paris, Nic Shake will visit his Asian roots to begin a career in the Malaysian music industry. 

Nic Shake cites his varied musical influences through his worldly travels and experiences that formed his music identity today. He quotes:

My venture with music has cultivated to all types of sounds from RNB & Hip Hop to Motown and Rock & Roll, to finally discovering my definitive genre of 70’s Classic Rock through legendary icons such as Jimmy Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Aerosmith and etc. This was an impactful time that has allowed me to ignite a creative spark that inspired me to pursue music as a form of art”

Armed with a unique musical prowess, Nic Shake will officially launch his first single “READY TO GO” in June 2013. A contemporary pop-rock anthem that infuses distinct rock riffs with melodic chorus lines. Commonly coined as a lyrical storyteller, Nic Shake soon release a debut album, a passion project developed through years of experimentation with his creative collaborator, Seth Freeman in Los Angeles. A true musical ensemble enlivened by influences of soul, pop and rock.

Taking after his father Dato’ Shake, Malaysia’s very own Rock & Roll pioneer, Nic Shake’s strongest suit is his sense of individualism despite a fearless drive for diversity.
