Okay, hear me out. Alfred is not 98462 in my headcannon. He stil exists, but is LNER number 8572, and 98462 is a different engine altogether named Edgar. 98462 looks more like Mainland's rendition of him, but a bit smaller. after he and 87546(who is named Reginald in this cannon) have a accident because of teasing Edward and not paying attention, they have there names revoked. 98462 starts to straighten up, while 87546 becomes bitter and worse. Later, 87546 tries to play a foul trick on Henry, only to find 98462 had decided to take Henry's train, due to Henry not feeling well. Sir Topham Hatt sends 87546 away at once, but offers to keep 98462. However, 98462 decides to leave with 87546, not because he wants to, but so 98462 can keep 87546 in line. As he leaves, 98462 wishes the others good luck running the railway and hopes he can come back soon.
