For the launch of the mix series I thought I would introduce myself and put together an hour of tunes.

My name is Charlie, I am an avid tune collector and DJ hailing from Liverpool, UK. 

Over the course of my 7/8 years DJing, I have played a lot of fun parties and venues, aswell as running a club night called Crackle with my 2 good friends, Will and Harry. 

We have been up and running since 2019 and have managed to host some great events, bringing some legends to our city such as Ian Pooley, A Guy Called Gerald and more. 

I’ve also had the pleasure of supporting some amazing artists such as The Egyptian Lover, Crazy P, John Morales, Ashley Beedle, Dan Shake and many more. 

My record collection ranges across a wide spectrum of genres from all different years/eras but one of my all time favourite genres is house and more specifically 90s/early 00s house, which Is why I thought this account would be a good idea in order to share and discover some of those nice dusty circles that bring us so much happiness.

Got some exciting guests so far from all over the world who will be showcasing their sounds/collection

💿 Mix 003: Rossi
📍Santiago, Chile

Rossa is a 24 year old DJ from Santiago, Chile. 

He’s sifted through his collection and brought us an hour of deep and heavy hitting sounds.

He writes:

“The first encounter I had with electronic music was at a party that I went by coincidence in Santiago, where I saw for the first time, people mixing with vinyl.

The party later went on to be called @algoritmo_______. Here I met @aur3lius.cl

Years later, @aur3lius.cl offered me a job, which I had no idea what it was about, then I realized that it was in a vinyl factory of the country, the only one in that moment. The name of the factory was @selkpressing. 

Here began a very powerful connection that now a days am grateful for. I like mixing music from the 90s and 2000s, house music, acid, minimal,  electro and more!
My project and interaction with electronic music still young but is a process that I'm thankful and like to see how my influences and my relationship with music have changed in shape and path over time. It is also gratifying to meet artists who have spent years and much more experience building their own path, is inspiring and a good way to keep the culture of the electronic music alive specially now a days.”

📍Adelaide, Australia 🇦🇺

Nicholas is a DJ and party thrower hailing from Adelaide. 

He’s brought gone through his collection and recorded a power hour of some classic house tunes from some of the greatest genre defining artists.

He writes:

"Adelaide has a pretty interesting background when it comes to dance music, being one of the original techno cities of the world in the 90s.

I didn't get to experience that firsthand, I was born in '96, but when I started going to parties 20 years later I think that inspiration and sound that others I looked up to experienced, was still pretty present.

We've got a small but tight knit community here, with all styles of dance music present. It's a pretty special thing that isn't really oversaturated.

I recorded this vinyl only mix a couple years ago actually, house music was my first love and introduction when it came to dance music.

I've been playing for the last couple years in various clubs and underground park parties, supporting local and international tours by local crews. 

I also throw my own techno parties under the name of @redline.

The range of music I play and enjoy varies from house to minimal house, acid, dub and minimal techno to hypnotic and the harder styles of dance music.”
