Imagine a sonic wonderland where ethereal melodies swirl around you and deep, pulsing bass lines rumble beneath your feet, urging you forward - into the unknown. In this quasi-reality, to walk is to dance, to speak is to truly listen, and to understand is to let go. As you regain a sense of harmonic balance and rhythm, you wonder to yourself, "Is this a dream?"

Enter 'Dreamery'- the latest musical exploration from LA-based duo niceFingers. ‘Dreamery’ is a landscape of sounds previously unexplored and uncovered, created with intention to constantly shift and shape our idea of what music can be. This album cannot be defined by any one genre or trend. Instead, ‘Dreamery’ forges its own musical path. With dreamy vocals, entrancing beats and emotionally-crafted melodies, niceFingers take their listeners on an aural journey to a dimension where imagination, creativity and musical enlightenment take flight. 

Following the release of their 2013 EP ‘ImagiNative,’ niceFingers travelled across the United States and through the jungles of Costa Rica to play countless shows, joining forces with many powerful influences along the way and curating a new sound that would lay the groundwork for their next musical endeavor. Back home in Los Angeles, niceFingers spent the better part of a year creating what is easily their most revolutionary and forward thinking body of work to date, ‘Dreamery.’ 

'Dreamery' combines organic instrumentation, original vocals, and niceFingers’ signature style of electronic beats to create a sound that is both refreshingly unique and undeniably danceable. It’s the type of album that could permeate the air during a late-night set at a music festival or be the soundtrack to a fantasy film. In either setting, niceFingers' beautiful compositions will motivate and uplift, while seamlessly balancing between the light and airy and the dark and heavy. 

With composing, writing and recording ‘Dreamery’ behind them, the niceFingers boys set out to find a kindred spirit who could translate their musical creation into visual art to be featured on the album’s cover. Artist Eric Tresback (3bak) was just the spirit for the task. His ability to channel the furthest reaches of imagination into beautiful, surreal landscapes was the finishing touch that ‘Dreamery’ needed. Armed with only his canvas and a paintbrush, 3bak dove into the mystical world of 'Dreamery' and emerged with a painting that truly encapsulates the soul of the album. With 3bak’s unique talents and vision, he brought 'Dreamery' to life in a way no other visual artist could. The result is an amazing collaboration of two very powerful art forms. 

NiceFingers’ self-released album 'Dreamery'’ will be available to the masses for free download through Bandcamp and Soundcloud on June 11th.

Soulular - Like Lightning (niceFingers Remix)

If there ever was a soundtrack to someone bouncing around in a paisley pink and blue padded room in an asylum for the happily insane, this could be it. Dosed on a solid regimen of comfort and bliss, every so often the room tilts sideways and you roll smiling into another softly padded wall. Hypha has truly outdone himself this time with glitches produced with such care that they appear gentle and comforting, twists that seem like a good idea every time they happen and a good amount of melody and use of atmospheric pads to warm the whole thing up.

Hypha fried our minds last year with his EP Whispers, his recent remixes of Bevvy Swift and Psymbionic and the release of his tune ‘Supra’ on Gravitas Recordings have pushed the envelope even further with genre blurring from DnB, to Trap and Footwork / Juke and a whole bunch in between. Sounds like: Andreilien, Nasty Nasty, sAuce, ONHELL, Zomby etc

Message from Toy Box:
"It’s been almost a year since my last multiple track release. I think my music has changed exponentially for the better in that time, and I’m proud of these tracks as I think they display a new vision for what Toy Box music will be in the future. Once you listen I’m sure you will notice that the tracks are considerably different from each other, however I hope you enjoy the certain signature sound that I believe I have been developing.  I initially wrote all the music on the mandolin and then transcribed it to all the different instruments.  The vocals are recordings of myself or others and I hope the melodies get stuck in your head. I tried to lean more towards the acoustic/real-life aspects of sounds, but obviously there is a significant amount of electronic elements involved. I mastered them all myself, but got some feedback from some producer friends.  These tracks were made on airplanes, bus rides, in my living room, the library, etc. I’ve been taking a lot of influence from Odesza, Bonobo, Emancipator, and Flume, but obviously wanting to make the EP as different and my own as possible. All in all, I just hope you really enjoy these sounds and share them with your friends!"

These soundscapes create ambient atmospheres of elegant composition and trigger a calming effect that leads through melodic measures. Carter fuses in his mandolin, making for an overall progression of authentic creativity and aesthetic presentation.

Toy Box is the alias of Carter Matthews, an up and coming musician and producer currently modulating in Denver, Colorado. Matthews has managed to stand out in a highly competitive music scene by blending soundscapes , pushing the boundaries of everyday genres, and meticulously blending the instrumental and digital. With his range of production abilities and the unique infusion of his mandolin, Toy Box gives himself a creative advantage over every other player in the game. With his following and inspiration growing stronger each day, the future is looking quite exciting for this young audial wizard.

Indie-Electronic duo Bassline Drift offer up their debut album 'Proximity,' out now on Gravitas Music. Producer-vocalist pair Keli Marks and Rachel 'Sink' Lindsay prove to be a potently powerful combination, blending hypnotic vocal dexterity and bass-filled electronic elements that captivate the listener from the onset. Stylistically, the songs draw from worldly and imaginative influence, with both upbeat and slower treasures contained within. The follow up to last year’s 'Ten Moons' EP, this new full length LP consists of seven original tracks and two remixes from producers Nanda & Kermode, and is available on all digital retailers. 

Opening with the sensual 'Nature,' the listener is transported to a seductive fantasy realm by the provocative mixture of Marks' emotive melodies and Lindsay's sultry voice. Next, the title track combines minimal beats with somber verses to produce a stimulating, dynamic ballad. Alluding to struggles of the soul, slower tracks like 'Your Heart is Mine' and 'I Don’t Know How To Be In Love' are mysterious and haunting hymns of heartache laid upon delicate rhythms. Effortlessly, ‘Scoundrel’ snaps the listener back to their senses. A perfect pick-me-up, the tune is an entrancing fusion of R&B, blues, and bass filled to the brim with attitude. Dhumavati comes next; a hybrid of exquisite, middle eastern vocals and heavy bass sounds, the track is an elevation of intensity compared to the rest of 'Proximity.' Easily the happiest piece on the album, 'Our Own Home' features varied acoustic instrumentation, injecting the song with cheerful, feel-good vibes. Rounding out the LP, Kermode slows things down with a sexy melodic dubstep twist on 'Proximity,' followed closely by Nanda’s psychedelic, experimental take on 'Nature.'
