Recorded in the infamous Scarborough Road, Walcat analogue studio in 1995, this Beatles cover version was the work of Paul Grimsley - Vocals, 12-String Guitars, Bass.  Stevie J Palmer (Deluka) - Drums.  Ian Cowley - Production.  It has been expertly restored for Nice Goose Records from a two track cassette copy by Kubrick Neumann at Durango Management to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its recording.

Throughout 2003/4 Harbidge Busby and Grimsley recorded at a studio in Hednesford which Ste and James had spent time fastidiously setting up.  The result was an album of new material.  During that time various former bandmates and friends joined the sessions.  Just Seventeen was written by Harbidge/Grimsley during 1998 and originally played in the band's MKII lineup.  When Mark Crowley (from MkI &amp; II) joined the sessions on drums the opportunity arose to record the track and lay rest the The Sonny Feelgood.

The original Studio recording of Paul Grimsley's track, Fix it.  Recorded in the Shelley Analogue studio in April 1995. Drums by Deluka's Steve Palmer and production by Paul Grimsley and Ian Cowley.  Engineering and mixing by Ian Cowley.  All other instruments are played by Paul Grimsley.

Remastered once again from the original two track cassette rip made in 2001.  Noise reduction improvements and recent advances in upper frequency restoration has made this remaster possible and worthwhile doing.  Many recordings have been made of this song in the 15 years since this recording, but none match the simplicity of this version.  Drums, Two Accoustic Guitars (one phased), Piano, Bass, Lead Vocal and Three Harmonies.  Hope you enjoy it.  Many thanks as ever to Steve Palmer and Ian Cowley.

Paul Grimsley - Fix It (2012 Remaster)

Recorded live in 1998 at the legendary JB's music venue, Dudley. England.  The band performed to a sellout crowd, with a handful of loyal fans whose support can be heard over the venue's massive PA.

Ste Busby - Bass
Mark Crowley - Drums

Apart from the failure of Paul's 70's Carlsbro Stingray amp in the closing bars of the guitar solo, this recording show's what a great live band The Sonny Feelgood could be. Mark and Ste played excellently as the bands driving rhythm leaving Paul and James to take care of the song delivery.  

The band had been touring extensively and we both a little horse, and very tight. This was one of the first songs written by Harbidge/Grimsley partnership for The Sonny Feelgood.


This track has been remastered as part of the Nice Goose Records Europe 20th Anniversary celebrations.

Collection (LIVE) - The Sonny Feelgood

Nice Goose Records Europe is a UK based organisation, setup for the amusement of its artiste's and the collation and archiving of its contributors material.  There is still a some material to archive and post.  If you've been involved or are mentioned then I send you my sincere thanks.

An album of new original Paul Grimsley solo material is not expected in 2017.  Writing and recording is not underway.  Heath Robinson will of course continue to perform engineering duties.
