Niceteed - Nothing But Pain EP (12" Vinyl)

Dublin DJ and producer Josh Coakley has been earning his stripes performing at clubs and festivals up and down the country, supporting everyone from Patrick Topping, Solardo and Fisher, to Michael Bibi, Route 94, Eats Everything and Alan Fitzpatrick, plus performing international shows in Holland, Gibraltar, Greece, Spain & Ibiza to name a few.

Today, however, we focus on the production element of Josh Coakley's game, as we premiere his remix of Niceteed - Nothing But Pain, which is available to pre-order today. Having already released on labels such as HOUZ, Swerve Digital, Pacha Recordings, Luxor Music, Recklas Records, Sony Music, Universal Music, Warner Music and Sleazy Deep to name a few, today Josh can add Chapeau Music to the list.

Chapeau Music is a label and event company based in Italy and the Netherlands, running parties and releasing house and techno music since 2011. During these years, they have been releasing music from both rising talents and well-known artists alike. 

Josh remixes the track 'Nothing But Pain', by Italian artist, Niceteed, which is from Niceteed's forthcoming 4 track EP, due out on June 25th. Primarily Josh is known for his tech-house style, but with this track he gets the opportunity to flex his production techniques, giving the already rawness of the original track a club-thumping makeover, primed and ready for the return of nightclubs and dance music events.

Four Four Premiere: Niceteed - Nothing But Pain [Josh Coakley Remix]

We are glad to present this first limited vinyl release from Niceteed. “Nothing But Pain EP” is an obscure record wrapped by hard and uncompromising dancefloor-oriented raw grooves and punchy low ends. Only 300 copies, gone is gone, no repress.

The title track “Nothing But Pain” has huge rounded kick, violent sub bass and mighty groove elements absorbed inside the reverberated synth stab and vocal, a track which belongs in the peak-moment of every secret rave.
If we consider we also have a more Tech-oriented banger remix by Josh Coakley everything collides on an absolute terrific A-side.

The flip side opens with “Leben”, a tribute track for the crew that Niceteed is part of in his hometown. Here the fast and weighty kick drum hugs the rhythmic components, gritty hi-hats and claps. Everything settles down on the straight and impact synth stab line.
The final track “Ketama Aurea” lead us in the darkest part of this record, a gloomier zone that perfectly fits the end of this EP. Over the baggy kick drum everything is surrounded by the tangled synth melodies, their sounds are intertwined in the mix like arms of ravers in the murkiest warehouse party. Here the melancholic vocal is opposed to the warm bassline that stands out after the breaks in an impressive way.

We are very excited to present the volume one of our "Acid Gems" various artists compilation. Niceteed, Josh Coakley, Hyyken and George Marshman with their productions make it possibile :*

"Internal Error" opens the compilation, a perky track dominated by the acid line that fits perfectly with the fat and swollen bass on well articulated 909 drums. Hi-hats pungent and repeated wisely as claps and rides.
"Technotronic" is a raw acid track, we think it would be perfect in a forest rave, the synth plays straight and pulls you and keeps you glued to the dancefloor like few tracks can. Before playing it make sure you have the right soundsystem!
"Around" closes the VA in a proper way, the fat-acid bassline keep us in a loop that seems to follow the cutoff on the acid line. What banger!
