This month I invited @meghaywood AKA GEM to provide a guest mix, having kept it relatively under wraps that she had started to DJ it’s very impressive what she has done in a short space of time. Coming off the back of a live studio sesh with dons @debbauk and @pluralistuk it’s very exciting to think what’s next for GEM. Her club focused mix features tracks from @perkopair @djplead and @amaliahppeche ending on the certified party starter from @haiderbrkr

Pull Up W GEM 12 - 04 - 22

This summer sees the second instalment of Faux Poly’s remix compilation series. Round 2 features an eclectic selection of artists close to and admired by label bosses Kassian.

Kicking off the compilation is a cavernous, trance inspired reinterpretation of Kassian’s ‘No Clear Shape’ by Manchester’s Homoelectric resident Gina Breeze. Following is Will Hoffbauer with a characteristically leftfield flip of Ste Roberts’ ‘Diego’s Mad Hour, who’s somehow gotten away with dunking a huge techno track into his bubble bath.

Another highlight comes from Rotterdam-based duo Black Cadmium, stepping up for their first ever remix together. Their dark electro inspired take on Ste Roberts’ ‘Dirty Politician’ is bursting with energy, holding onto the mood of Ste’s original with their own added signature groove.

Completing the lineup is London’s Third Son, Niceup, Void Complet, plus contributions from label bosses Warren Xclnce and Danvers.

Kassian - Akkala Falls (Niceup Remix)

Open Culture: No Borders is a campaign demonstrating solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers, as an ongoing response to the UK government’s ‘Hostile Environment Policy’. The policy has involved a slew of regressive legislations, intended to create a deliberately challenging environment for migrants to settle. In the process, we are seeing cruel approaches to the treatment of refugees and asylum seekers, the use of provocative language intended to create division and the adaption of laws which offer protection of human rights for all.

Proceeds go to Safe Passage International, who support unaccompanied children seeking asylum to reunite safely with their families across Europe, and campaign for more
