Inspired by the riddim and sounds of Blind Prophet, Clinton Sly is ready to run the sound system! Slowing down the tempo to 120bpm, Blind Prophet delivers a heavy dose of dubwise for the B-side. 'Hugh Dub' starts off with a mutated vocal and quickly drops into a tuff steppers riddim. A distorted bassline and thumping kick drive the track. Accompanied by plucked guitars, organ skanks and dub FX it's a sound system stomper for sure!'

In late 2016, Liondub & Marcus Visionary teamed up to bring you “Rumble.” Their first single featured Suku from Ward 21, the veteran Dancehall don out of Kingston Jamaica who has inspired a generation of vocalists and producers, effectively creating new genres throughout the UK and the world. In the sound clash tradition, Rumble and Suku created "Siren", a hi-energy club and radio weapon that received radio plays from David Rodigan on the BBC, Ras Kwame on Capital Xtra, Charlie Tee on Kiss and support across the A-List board in the Jungle scene. Fast forward 2.5 years and Liondub presents an updated Dancehall VIP featuring Basslayerz vocal front man Spyda, and an impressive array of remixes from a whose who in the D&B world and beyond. For Deeper Vision Recordings 45th release as a label we present you with one of Britain's most influential dancehall toasters, Macka B alongside NYC producer Ted Ganung for 'Stop It, Idiot Ting' remix by Los Angeles based DJ, Roommate. California based artist Roommate (Justin McCauley) has a musical career that can be described as prolific and ever changing. After self releasing his first solo album (Dubfunk vol1) in 2003, he quickly gained musical notoriety in the U.S. counter culture. When dubstep first hit the U.S. streets, Roommate was quick to find a love and understanding for the music and began production. Joining forces with L.A. based artist and long time friend No Thing, the two formed Babylon System which contributed to many of the early U.S. dubstep releases such as "50 Blocks Away"," Examination of Time", and "Loaded" to name a few.

Macka B, Ted Ganung - Stop It, Idiot Ting (Roommate Remix)

One of the biggest ever UK posse cuts, "Veterans" lines up 20 of some of the greatest UK MC's to grace the mic - from Roots Manuva, Rodney P and Ragga Twins, to Blak Twang, Navigator and Ty, who sadly passed earlier this year - the number of legends on this track is truly mondblowing. The original splashed down last year with a killer video showing how it all came together. So what better to do then give the track some remixes?

First up, US jungle don Liondub and Jah Boogs drop a heavy drum and bass monster, riffing on the classic bassline of the original. Next, original broken beat don and Bugz In The Attic mainstay Daz-I-Kue gives us a bruk-bashment flavour, sure to turn the heat up in any dance. Tru-Thoughts own Wrongtom goes for a rub-a-dub spin echoing a classic riddim and bassline, whilst label boss Shepdog dusts off his old mash-up skills for a soundclash of classic reggae and dancehall riddims (exclusive to Bandcamp)

Taken from the hugely popular "Pack Up And Run" album released earlier this year, Glasgow based producer Escape Roots delivers another dubwise single including a couple of wicked remixes. Featuring Moscow's finest mic-controller Tenor Youthman who brings a lovers rock vibe to the track in his classic hill & gully rider style.

Remixes come from Somah, who is constantly making waves with releases on Deep Medi and Scrubadub. He delivers a deep and spacious 140 flip with lots of reverbs, horns and tuff basslines! Scotland's Samson Sounds then take the track to another level with a dancehall influenced version using chopped up vocals and trappy hihats to create something very fresh - both essential weapons for any selector!
