Since “Always Be My Baby” (1995) and “Subtle Invitation” (2002) by Mariah Carey are both in the same key (E Major), I tried to make a remix/mash-up mainly based on the first song, with hints of the second. The mix contains also interpolations of “Without You” (1993) and “Dreamlover” (1993); and short vocal samples taken from “Sprung” (2005) and “Miss You” (2002). 
I tried to recreate a typical ‘Mariah Carey song’-type of atmosphere (a difficult task whatsoever!), and I wanted to put particular emphasis on the melodic aspect, which unexpectedly led, in some parts, to a solemn and almost sacred feeling.
Context/Mood: a melancholy dream, memories, sweetness, visions of spring… the dewy meadow, the sound of the brook, the scent of grove… past/future, Nature/technology. The celestial spheres kindly watch over the sleep of the just. Hopes and dreams for a new start.
