If you saw WALL play in NYC or at SXSW (they were No. 2 on Time Out Austin’s top picks for SXSW 2016) you will recognize some of the tracks on their new LP, Untitled. "Everything In Between" was often a set opener, albeit in an instrumental form. Here we find the definitive full band arrangement, which shows a group capable of generating wave after wave of engaging post-punk. First single "High Ratings" advances the strengths of WALL's self-titled EP with it's look at modern anxiety stemming from social media addiction: "We're all guilty," as singer Sam York howls. Their rocking cover of Half Japanese's classic "Charmed Life" is probably the closest track in tone to "Cuban Cigars," the pop moment on the WALL EP. True to the original, it features perfectly skronky sax from Pill’s Ben Jaffe. "River Mansion" displays Vince McClelland's extensive post-punk guitar vocabulary with squalls, shrieks and plinks over the band's elegant Kroutrock groove with York and Skadden's cooing vocals occasionally synching with a slippery guitar riff. Fans of Skadden's former group, Finally Punk will appreciate "Save Me" – a tale of desperation with Skadden sharing lead vocal duties along with York. These are just a few examples of songs from this diverse and intense LP, showing us a band stretching out sonically and stylistically at their peak and right before their untimely demise. 

So there you have it -- a testament to a band that formed in an instant, burned brightly and left us with two great records. Did you see WALL at Palisades, The Silent Barn, Alphaville, Union Pool, and all the rest of them? Let this LP remind you or take you there for the first time. Welcome to the official SoundCloud. Tuxedo is Grammy nominated renaissance man Mayer Hawthorne (Aquarius) and Grammy nominated producer Jake One (Taurus). They mysteriously showed up on Internet doorsteps nearly four years ago. In between Mayer's solo albums, and Jake's productions for Drake, The Weeknd, J. Cole, etc., Tuxedo released their debut album and quickly became a world of its own. The Tux is back with their unique brand of elegant funk and a new EP available now through Stones Throw Records.

Miami Horror Presents: The Shapes 

Leila is the first song released from Miami Horror's new conceptual release "The Shapes" - a unique 5 track release that see's Miami Horror step out of their comfort zone.  The Shapes combines upbeat percussive grooves, with experimental vocal styles that echo Talking Heads and other post-new wave groups of the 80s.

In conjunction with the EP's release Miami Horror are working closely with visual artists that have inspired their music such as Erin Garcia, Spenceroni, Lynnie Zulu & Annukil, as well as Argentinian and Sth african artists John Mccam & Sebatian Borkenhagen. "The Shapes" is due March 17.

Delving into more expansive and experimental territories, Glasgow’s prodigious talent C Duncan released his second album ’The Midnight Sun' last October to critical acclaim. Blending electronic elements and sweeping synth sounds with his signature layered vocals and dreamy instrumentation, the follow up to his Mercury Prize nominated debut ‘Architect’ won huge praise from the likes of The Guardian, The Sunday Times, Mojo, Uncut and The Quietus. ‘Like You Do’ is the latest single to be taken from ‘The Midnight Sun’ and it’s been given the deluxe remix treatment it deserves, with Salford four-piece Dutch Uncles delivering a trademark rework of the original. 
 
"This, for me, is one of the more unsettling songs on the album” Duncan tells us, “It’s about being deprived of satisfaction and suffering as a result". This theme of depravity is mirrored through the songs instrumentation. The listener is first teased with a skittering beat and a spiralling synth line that leaves the track bare and exposed. As layers of vocals and synth are gradually introduced, 'Like You Do' gains an almost uplifting confidence that offers an opposition to this depravity. Previously unheard track 'Nothing At All' produces a dreamlike atmosphere that could only be conjured by C Duncan's ability to seamlessly weave vocals in and out of warm synths and gentle melodies. 
 
The single’s artwork, a painting of a dimly lit staircase, is also a piece by C Duncan, who also happens to be a skilled painter. “This being another album made from home, I wanted the artwork to parallel that.” elaborates the artist. “The paintings I have done for it are of interiors - the stairwell outside my flat to be precise. I spend a lot of time out there thinking about music, and I wanted there to be a very personal element to the artwork.”
