Technophobia

This composition was written for the Peter Nelson Ensemble with the aim of making glitch music more accessible. The concept involved blending glitch elements with traditional, melancholic harmonies and melodies, as well as acoustic instruments. The composition features samples from one of my favourite glitch musicians, Vaetxh (Rob Clouth).

The piece was designed to performed using an augmented guitar. With the use of Tripleplay pickups I can convert the guitar's sonic output into MIDI data in order to control a multitude of software instruments at once. With the addition of generative techniques, audio/MIDI effects, pre-recorded samples and automation which are controlled using the Guitar Wing, I can produce an interesting piece that sounds heavily arranged.

What's the Fuss?

This is a composition of mine played by the Rush Hour ensemble, 
in which I used a Guitar Wing to control the live computer part. This was performed in the Reid Concert Hall as part of the Dialogues Festival. The ensemble was directed by Peter Nelson.
